The Hills star makes the same mistake as John Lennon

The HillsIt looks like Heidi Montag from The Hills has made the same mistake as legendary musician John Lennon: she compared herself to Jesus. Of course, that’s where the Beatles analogy stops. Unlike the cast of The Hills, Lennon actually had talent.

It began when she was accused of spreading rumors about an alleged sex tape of Lauren, another cast member. “I don’t even want to talk about that. There were rumors about a sex tape, but I had nothing to do with that. God knows the truth in all of this, and at the end of the day, that is the only thing that matters. Jesus was persecuted, and I’m going to get persecuted, ya know? But it doesn’t matter to me,” said Montag.

Whoa. Right up there with never getting involved in a land war in Asia is comparing yourself to Jesus in any capacity in an interview. Given the current social climate and her laughable role in it, Heidi Montag will probably not be persecuted for her statements. Which is quite different than the situation Jesus found himself in.

Heidi Montag: Christian Music’s Next Big Thing?

Heidi Montag: Christian Music’s Next Big Thing?

We recently reported on Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt heading to church for Sunday worship.  And now it sounds like the peroxide princess may be considering taking her career down the ‘straight and narrow’ path.

That’s right, Miss Montag is getting back in touch with her Christian roots, according to a recent interview.  She told press, “I have been the most religious person since I was 2 years old. I always felt this crazy connection to God.”

She went on to say that she’s been reading her Bible more and more lately, and is even considering recording a Christian album.  As for her less-than-holy reputation in Hollywood, Heidi says she’s only worried about one opinion - God’s.

“God knows the truth in all of this, and at the end of the day, that is the only thing that matters. Jesus was persecuted, and I’m going to get persecuted, ya know?”

What Would Heidi Do?

It seems Spencer Pratt isn’t the only one who has a hold on Heidi Montag’s heart, and she’s not at all shy about dropping his name, either.

“I have been the most religious person since I was 2 years old,” the Hills star tells USA Today. “I always felt this crazy connection to God.”

OMG! Does Spencer know?!

Apparently…

After all, the two did raise eyebrows recently when they were spotted attending church together. And Heidi reveals they read the Bible, um, religiously.

What’s more, she can totally relate to the man upstairs. “Jesus was persecuted, and I’m going to get persecuted, ya know? But it doesn’t matter to me,” she said, referring to all the rumors surrounding her feud with Hills costar Lauren Conrad.

Heaven help us.

Kanye West: Grammy-Tastic

Kanye West: Grammy-Tastic

He’s just been nominated for a total of eight Grammy Awards, and Kanye West seems pretty darn pleased with the news.  The “Jesus Walks” rapper shopped for furniture in West Hollywood yesterday, sporting a positive vibe.

As for his professional life, it sounds like he’s still taking some time to deal with the recent death of his mother.

With only a few days notice, West cancelled his appearance at the KDWB Jingle Ball last night, citing an unspecified “family matter.”

The KDWB program director explained, “We tried to get [West] on the air to explain all this to fans, but he refused.  We did everything we could to save this thing.”

Somehow we doubt his no-show last night will do much to dampen his popularity with his fans.
