Keri Russell’s August Rush
Keri Russell’s August Rush
Last night, “August Rush” premiered at the Ziegfeld Theater in New York City. And Keri Russell was in the house to promote her new film.
The “Felicity” actress was dressed in an all-black ensemble. She wore a scoop-neck three-quarter-length dress, with a tied belt and open-toed heels. Her hair was swept back into an up ‘do, and she embodied the “classic clean” look with minimal makeup.
Russell plays a “sheltered young cellist who has a chance encounter with an Irish guitarist, leaving her pregnant,” in the film. Her child is orphaned and becomes an incredible child prodigy musician.
“August Rush” also stars Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Robin Williams, and Freddie Highmore. The film opens November 21st nationwide.
Jonathan Rhys Meyers’ Legal Trouble
Jonathan Rhys Meyers’ Legal Trouble
We’ve all heard the stereotype that the Irish like to drink… but Jonathan Rhys Meyers took the joke a little too far while visiting Dublin, Ireland yesterday during a press tour for his new movie “August Rush.”
It seems the 30-year-old actor enjoyed a few too many libations before attempting to board a plane at the Dublin airport, on his way to England.
Airport authorities refused to allow the Tudors star on the plane following two confrontations with police due to his erratic, abusive behavior. Jonathan was arrested by Ireland’s national police force and held for a short time on charges of “public drunkenness and breach of the peace.”
Reportedly, he was released “on his own bail” and is due back in Irish court on December 5th. Interestingly enough, Jonathan already did a stint in rehab earlier this year… maybe he needs to head back.

Adding another trophy to his collection, Jonathan Rhys Meyers was dubbed “Best Actor” in Dublin on Sunday night as part of the Irish Film and Television Awards.
The actor won the acclaim for his work on the Showtime series The Tudors, which is about the young King Henry VIII.
Meanwhile, the show and it’s contributors racked up a record seven IFTAs, more than any other in the award ceremony’s 5-year history, according to Variety reports.
Besides winning awards, the 31-year-old actor announced on Monday that “he will work as an international goodwill ambassador with the Hope Foundation. His role will be to highlight the plight of street children in India,” the Irish Independent reports.
“He is committed to visit Calcutta and to do a documentary in Calcutta with the children. He is terribly interested in children’s rights so he has spoken very positively about trying to highlight the problems with child trafficking and child labor. He is going to be in Ireland for the next four months so he has also said he wants to work with us as closely as possible,” an organizational rep told press.
The Tudors’ Dynasty Continues
This news doesn't bode well for Anne Boleyn, but fans of The Tudors can bow down in thanks.
Considering King Henry VIII has four more wives to plow through, Showtime has renewed the lusty period drama for a third season. Production is set to begin in Ireland in June, with episodes to debut in 2009.
The series, starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers as the heir-craving royal, is currently halfway through its second season.
Natalie Dormer's Anne, having given birth to daughter Elizabeth, is currently on the chopping block, a plot development that, as you history buffs out there know, will pave the way for the rise of the more reproductively successful yet equally doomed Jane Seymour (Anita Briem).
