X-Files and Office Dish from WonderCon

Tubers, dare to dream.
Case in point: Many of you wrote on the Watch with Kristin message boards that you'd love for world's best boss Michael Scott from NBC's The Office to hit jury duty, just as his real-life counterpart, Steve Carell, recently did.
Well, guess what? Steve Carell himself says that's precisely what is in the works. This Office dish is just part of the juicy goodness our intern emeritus Marisa Roffman scored when she hit up the big event of the weekend: WonderCon in San Fran. (What, did you think I was gonna say that other awards thingy?)
During the panel for Get Smart, Carell told the audience that the Office cast goes back to work in two weeks. And although he won't be penning any episodes for this season, he is planning to write an episode for next season based on his recent two-week jury-duty stint, where he served on a case in which neither of the parties spoke English and required a translator. (You can just imagine Michael's tact and cultural sensitivity in full effect, right? God bless him!)

Elsewhere at the Con, Joshua Jackson, who is now rumored to be unavailable for his Grey's stint as Cristina's lover (booo!), was also unavailable to do press for the film Shutter, because he's working on the new J.J. Abrams pilot, Fringe, up in Toronto (yay!). However, his Shutter costar James Kyson Lee (Heroes' Ando) represented, and he acknowledged that "some things worked and some things didn't" in Heroes' second season, and that in the next chapter, "Villains," Hiro and Ando will share more time together.
Still, not to bruise Michael Scott's fragile ego, but it's clear that the panel of this year's WonderCon was the X-Files movie, where fans camped out for hours to see, among other things, the world premiere of the movie trailer (which you can see a shakey, fan-filmed version of here…)
The room went nuts. And the panel received a standing ovation. Seems people are, um, looking forward to this? Who knew?! Oh, right, everyone.
Though creator Chris Carter and his crew were tight-lipped about movie spoilers, C.C. did say very firmly that no one is ever really dead in The X-Files, raising speculation that we may see the likes of the Lone Gunmen or Cigarette-Smoking Man in the flick. There were also whisperings that Skinner would be in the movie (though the only official casting that has been confirmed thus far is David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson, Amanda Peet, Billy Connolly and Xzibit.)
So, how excited are you for the X-Files movie, the return of Michael Scott and Pacey Freaking Witter (swoon!) joining up with J.J. Abrams?! Comment below!
P.S.: One final word of advice to you Office fans, straight from the mouth of Carell: "You should try to work 'That's what she said' into every conversation, because it really works." Always a good time, as evidenced by the NBC promo below, which never fails to leave me satisfied and smiling…
Why John Stamos Is Crying (A Farewell to Future Husbands)
Ambien. Sleep deprivation. Jet lag. These all seem to be very valid reasons for John Stamos' unusual behavior on an Australian talk show last week. But I am here to tell you exclusively that the real reason is that John is currently battling a deep, dark emotional demon: his complete and utter despair over my pending nuptials.
Now, that may sound like some kind of crazy, egomaniacal, Bridezilla-inspired delusion, and, well, it absolutely is (I chatted with John this week and he is 100 percent fine—in all senses of the word). But that won't stop me from imagining that somewhere, in a very dark corner, Michael Vartan, Wentworth Miller, Josh Holloway, John Krasinski, Jason Dohring, Patrick Dempsey, Masi Oka, Scott Foley, Scott Speedman, Joshua Jackson and yes, Mr. John Stamos, are all rocking themselves in the fetal position, wondering how it is that I'm marrying another man.
For you who've been reading this column since the dawn of time, you know I've had an overriding ulterior motive in this ruse called TV "reporting": To find and collect hot TV men as "Future Husbands," in the hopes of someday moving to Utah and marrying them all. (The aforementioned names are the most memorable of all.)
To that end, before I head off to say my "I do's" to the man pictured in the photo below (yes, it's cheesy to post it, but many of you asked, and I'm a feelin' Gouda!) I have taped a final farewell to all of my Future Husbands, which you can see in the latest Watch with Kristin show at the top of this section. It. Is. Awesome.

Thanks to my trusty Vine show producer Kat Forcadas, the video clip at the top has the best Future Husband moments of all time, and even some new, personal messages from your favorite Heroes and Office peeps. Good times!
Meanwhile, I also need to break the news to you that today is my last official day before departing on my big "Hiatusmoon." As I've mentioned before, I'm taking some time off (about a month) to get married, travel with my hubby, shack up (see, I'm an honest girl!) and unplug (deblog) before the fun madness of fall TV begins. This past (column-to-blog and single-to-married) year has been exciting but exhausting, and I figure now is the perfect time to get some much needed R&R. But don't you fret! You will get your TV fix. For I am leaving you in extremely awesome and amazing hands.
Wondering who that could be? Well, drumroll, please…
Ladies and gentletubers, allow me to present your new masters of TV scoopology, Korbi Ghosh (whom you know and love from her Quickies in this section) and Jennifer Godwin (who—shhhhhh—may or may not be our resident expert in cult TV, Dr. Anna Graham), the two kickass chiquitas who have graciously committed to taking over the Watch with Kristin column in my absence. I hope you'll be kind and give them all the love and respect they deserve, because they'll be busting serious gluteus maximus in my absence, covering TCAs and Comic-Con and all the summer TV happenings—while also covering various duties such as making out with Future Husbands—all in an effort to keep you happy.
In the meantime, I just want to say thank you. Because of all of you, I have the best job and best readers in the world to come home to after the Hiatusmoon has ended. And that makes me a very lucky girl.
(P.S.: And a special thanks to my good friend Jason Stuempfig, who made a special cameo appearance in the only decent photo I could find of my fiancé and me—making a special hand gesture that is cropped out. I better tie him up while we take our photos at the wedding!)
Pacey returns to TV in Abrams latest project
According to Entertainment Weekly, Joshua Jackson, better known for his role as Pacey Witter in Dawson’s Creek, has just been cast as one of the leading men in J.J. Abrams’ latest TV project, Fringe. Fear not Grey’s Anatomy fans, Fringe is shooting its 2-hour pilot this month (with a tiny budget of $10 million dollars), so it’s likely that the actor will be able to free himself to shoot his guest stint on the ABC show when production resumes.
Around mid-November, it was revealed that the actor was set to guest star in a few episodes of Grey’s Anatomy as a potential love interest for Cristina. When news of the strike arrived, his stint was delayed. As of mid-January, insiders were reporting that Jackson was still set to appear on the show. But now that he is officially attached to the new sci-fi mystery FOX series, I guess his storyline on GA may be trashed or that they will recast the role if they can’t make shooting schedules match.
Fringe should appeal to fans of shows like The X-Files. The series revolves around a unit investigating sci-fi cases. Jackson is set to play a member of that team. EW reports that the show also features a “gifted yet possibly insane scientist dad” played by John Noble and a FBI agent played by Anna Torv. IMDb.com reveals that actors Lance Reddick, Charlotte Rampling, Kirk Acevedo, and Blair Brown are also attached.

From J.J. Abrams (”Lost”), Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, the team behind “Star Trek,” “Mission: Impossible III” and “Alias,” comes a new drama that will thrill, terrify and explore the blurring line between science fiction and reality. When an international flight lands at Boston’s Logan Airport and the passengers and crew have all died grisly deaths, FBI Special Agent Olivia Dunham (newcomer Anna Torv) is called in to investigate. After her partner, Special Agent John Scott (Mark Valley, “Boston Legal”), is nearly killed during the investigation, a desperate Olivia searches frantically for someone to help, leading her to DR. Walter Bishop (John Noble, “Lord of the Rings”), our generation’s Einstein. There’s only one catch: he’s been institutionalized for the last 20 years, and the only way to question him requires pulling his estranged son Pter (Joshua Jackson, “Dawson’s Creek”) in to help. When Olivia’s investigation leads her to manipulative corporate executive Nina Sharp (Blair Brown, “Altered States”), our unlikely trio along with fellow FBI Agents Phillip Broyles (Lance Reddick, “The Wire”), Charlie Francis (Kirk Acevedo, “Oz”) and Astrid Farnsworth (Jasika Nicole, “Law & Order: Criminal Intent”) will discover that what happened on Flight 627 is only a small piece of a larger, more shocking truth.
