Michael Bay and 2012: The War for Souls

Michael BayTransformers director Michael Bay is eyeing sci-fi author Whitley Strieber’s forthcoming novel 2012: The War for Souls.

According to TMZ, Bay will produce the film adaptation, which he also hopes to direct. Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (Star Trek XI) are supposedly producing and writing the screenplay adaptation. The 336 page novel is expected in book stores in September 2007.

TMZ Reports:

“Apparently, 2012 will be a big year for planet Earth, at least according to many folk traditions: 2012 is suppossedly to be a year of either great spiritual transformation — or apocalypse. The Mayan calendar held that it would be a time when the existing world order would be reversed. Nostradamus forecasted that a rather large comet would rudely arrive on Earth’s doorstep no later than 2012. The Roman Catholic Saint Malachy predicted that in 2012, the last Pope would arrive, triggering Judgment Day. And in both “The X Files” and amongst certain UFO theorists, 2012 is the year aliens invade Earth. Even regular, non-nutty scientists also speculate that in 2012 a polar reversal will take place on carth, and that once the earth starts rotating in the opposite direction, natural disasters of unknown proportions may occur.”

Sounds very interesting. I’m all for any movie that involves Michael Bay and a lot of special effects filled action sequences.

Did You Know: The Mayan calendar ends on December 21st 2012. They believed that would be the day the world would end.

Terminator Salvation Concept Art!

Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins director McG has kicked-off a production blog on the official website with a reassuring message, along with some cool concept art showing post-judgment day Los Angeles. Click to get a closer look!

We’ve officially started principal photography on Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins. Like you guys, I’ve been a long-time fan of the series and I understand your passion for the Terminator movies — and it’s my full intention to deliver a film that lives up to the previous three installments. I’ve spent time with James Cameron, spoken to Arnold Schwarzenegger, gone over the story with Jonah Nolan, and enlisted Stan Winston.

Everything we’re shooting is designed to be tactile and real, you’ll be seeing a whole set of inspired designs you’ve never seen before, and best of all you’ll finally get to see some of the post-judgment day future that was only hinted at in the previous movies.

John Connor will be pushed to the brink. And for me, Christian Bale embodies Connor’s strength and tenacity perfectly. And after visiting Sam Worthington on the set of Avatar, I know he’s perfect for his role.

As you know, Anton Yelchin is playing Kyle Reese, and his prep has been unbelievable. The guy’s been watching all three Terminators incessantly and he’s definitely going to capture the essence of the character Michael Biehn created in Cameron’s first film.

We started principal photography with a sequence at Griffith Observatory. I’ve already seen a cut of it — Anton and Sam are excellent. I’ll have more on that soon, and can’t wait to share some of what we’re doing with you all. Stay tuned for more.

Before her outstanding performance as an actress, Lilly was formerly an air hostess. Evey, that’s how people usually call her, is fluent in French. Between acting and modeling, Lilly spends her spare time ice-skating, canoeing, kayaking, snowboarding and rock climbing.

The Ford modeling agency found Lilly on the streets of Kelowna, British Columbia. She later signed to the agency so that she could pay her education expenses at the University of British Columbia.

Evangeline Lilly made her outstanding appearance and caught the media attention as she stars Kate in the 2004 ABC TV series “Lost” in which she refused to do partial nude scene in its early episode.

She was originally auditioned for one of the supporting roles, but unexpectedly won the lead role of Kate. The series has led her to be nominated as the Best Actress in a Series by Golden Satellite Awards and Best Actress on Television by Saturn Awards.

Lilly also had her role in TV series “Judgment Day” (2002) and “Kingdom Hospital” (2004), and movies “Stealing Sinatra” (2003) and “The Long Weekend” (2005). As a result of her outstanding act, the Entertainment Weekly has voted Evangeline Lilly as one of the Breakout Stars of 2004.
