No Gossip About Chace Crawford
Where in the world was Michelle Trachtenberg last night?
Not with Chace Crawford!
Trachtenberg and Crawford quickly shot down speculation that they’ve been getting cozy since she joined the cast of Gossip Girl.
At last night's event, when asked by New York magazine about the rumors, Trachtenberg said, "Tabloids make up crazy s–t."
And it was strictly a girls' night out for Trachtenberg last evening when she hit a VIP dinner at New York’s Macelleria restaurant for the Theory Icon Project followed by the opening of artist David Ellis’ “Flyaway” show at the nearby Theory store.
I’m told Trachtenberg spent most of her time hanging with publishing heiress and model Lydia Hearst (above) and the model daughters of rocker Keith Richards, Alexandra and Theodora.
Trachtenberg and Hearst left the party at about 10 pm. No word if they continued their partying elsewhere.
Also at the Ellis affair were Gina Gershon, Damon Dash, May Anderson and Bijou Phillips.
Eddie Izzard: Cross-dresser, Traveler… politician?
I guess in a world where a wrestler and an action hero can both be a governors, anything is possible. Eddie Izzard, cross-dressing stand-up comedian who’s currently playing Traveler Wayne Malloy on The Riches, is thinking that in ten years or so, he might want to go into politics. Yes, you heard me.
In an interview with Newsweek.com, Izzard feels that he might want to participate in European Union politics. What’s his big issue? “People are very worried about sovereignty and the loss of sovereignty. I think the stakes are if we don’t make the European Union work, then the world is screwed. End of story.”
He supports a type of governing known as subsidiarity, which is a Catholic principle that states “that nothing should be done by a larger and more complex organization which can be done as well by a smaller and simpler organization,” according to the Acton Institute. Hm. So that means that he wants to work within the European Union to ensure that it has less power? Am I right there?
Anyway, I’m not sure that we need to take this too seriously just yet. Izzard is too busy acting — in the article, he also discusses filming Valkyrie with Tom Cruise — and doing stand-up. In fact, he’ll be out on tour with a new stand-up set, in which he’ll be in “blokey mode,” meaning the most he’ll be wearing is a little eyeliner, “but less than Keith Richards wears.”
Oh, and if you’re a Wikipedia fan, you’re in luck; that seems to be the major source of Izzard’s stand-up act. So, even if some of the stuff he says isn’t quite right, at least it’ll be funny.

Lost video podcast recap: February 8, 2008
The video podcast for “Confirmed Dead” is up on ABC’s Lost page. This week, costume designer Roland Sanchez discussed the costume choices for some of the new characters that appeared in Thursday’s episode. This was another short behind the scenes video, but hopefully the rumored end to the strike will bring Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse back for some meatier podcasts. Here’s a recap:
- The show’s wardrobe department keeps at least a dozen versions of Jack’s classic blue T-shirt. Sanchez chose that shade of blue because he didn’t think that Jack would wear a “happy” color.
- Sanchez introduced fans to Lulu, the set dog. Lulu has appeared in several Lost episodes, including scenes set in Nigeria. She is also the dog in the infamous painting in Jacob’s cabin.
- Believe it or not, Miles’ costume was inspired by Keith Richards.
- The vest-hoodie that Miles wore in “Confirmed Dead” was originally an Armani Exchange jacket. The sleeves were removed, and a hood was added.
- When Jeremy Davies met Sanchez for a fitting, he was wearing a skinny black tie. Sanchez liked the idea of Daniel having a costume that mixed “edginess” with a more traditional academic look, so he used the tie.
In next week’s podcast, two cast members will discuss “The Economist.” Check back here for another recap!
Hannah Montana Concert Movie Tickets Selling Out (I Know)

The nation’s largest online movie ticket company, Fandango, has released some stats for Disney’s theatrical concert extravaganza opening this weekend, Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour. For those who don’t know but secretly care, the movie is in 3D. What does a $15 ticket buy in 3D? Well, how about: guitar pics flying at your face, mic stands being rocked so hard the Blues Brothers would duck, the totes siked hands of huge tween audiences grabbing for you, and one twirling drum stick going “wham!” Beowulf, I want my golden duckets back.
- The concert movie currently accounts for 91% of tickets sold on Fandango
- Over 1,000 showtimes are sold out don’t cha know
- It’s already the best selling concert movie in Fandango’s history (Bono and Keith Richards, up to it?)
- Theaters are adding Thursday midnight shows and 8 a.m. screenings (we don’t need no…)
- The movie’s been a bestseller on the site since December 1st
The movie is only playing in 683 locations according to the trades, but box office is expected to be boffo-in-sequins.
