She’s looking better than ever, and for New Year’s Eve, Mariah Carey partied it up at hot spot TAO with a few of her closest friends.
Actually, she brought an entourage of 30 people, according to a club source. But when you’re as hot as she is, you certainly can’t travel alone. She brought celebs like Da Brat, Randy Jackson, “Milkshake” girl Kelis, and rapper Nas.
Showing off her voluptuous form, the “Always Be My Baby” singer rocked a white strapless cocktail dress, just short enough to be a bit scandalous. And while it fit like a glove, it’s a good thing no one tugged on it, as it looked like it could fall off at any moment.
The “Someday” diva explained that she’s already hit her weight goal for the New Year, hence her lack of a resolution. “I should have them, but I’ve already done them,” she quipped at press.
TAO clubgoers were treated to a Mariah-hosted countdown to 2008, and she ended the night with a performance of “Migrate,” her new single.
There Will Be Milkshakes: The Mash-Up
Daniel Plainview’s “I drink your milkshake…I drink it up! [slurp]” is chugging along to become pop culture’s new “…with fava beans and a nice chianti [slurp],” and nothing says “crossover art house hit” like a precocious YouTube mash-up. Kevin Kunze, presumably of the University of San Francisco, has set up DDL on a blind date with underrated pop-rap chanteuse Kelis, lacing imagery from There Will Be Blood with her space-age booty anthem “Milkshake.” The resulting video is called, ahem, “There Will Be [Milkshakes].” If anyone wants to make a quick Internet buck, get to making some TWBMS t-shirts pronto. Here’s hoping that Hollertronix or Weird Al puts out a bigger white label remix, thereby blowing the probable Best Picture nominee’s public awareness into outer space.
In related news, Entertainment Weekly’s silly Shaw Report has declared “mustache fatigue” the new black. Sorry, Shaw Report, you’re, like, five years too late. The ’stache has returned full-force, and this time it has milk and ice cream dripping from its handlebars. Now, go be a failed trendspotter and stick an L on your forehead as you sit it out inside Owen Gleiberman’s verbosity, thanks.

Superstar singer Prince’s concerts are always sold out, and filled with adoring fans. One fan got a special treat from the reclusive performer at a recent show, and her name is Penelope Cruz.
Cruz attended last Saturday’s Prince Concert at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. And the pop star got up close and personal with the actress… to the point that he performed a song just for her.
Prince sat next to Penelope and her friends as he played a brand spanking new hit to her delight. Then he did something that he never does- he took a request.
Penelope asked Prince to sing “Nothing Compares 2 U” and he happily complied. And Penelope loved it. One witness said, “Penelope was in heaven. She sang along, eyes closed.”
And Penelope wasn’t the only celeb attending the show that night. P. Diddy, Nas, Kelis, Topher Grace, and Hilary Swank were also in the audience for the low-key intimate affair.
