Paris Hilton Pulls an Angelina Jolie
Paris Hilton Pulls an Angelina Jolie
Sure she’s in South Africa to hang with her boyfriend Benji Madden and his band Good Charlotte on their tour, but Paris Hilton is a sucker for loving on orphans!
The “Hottie and the Nottie” starlet was spotted doing a little humanitarian work yesterday in Pretoria. And from the looks of it, the kids loved her.
Miss Hilton stopped by the Jacaranda Children’s home for orphans to brighten up the day for the home’s residents. She wore a beautiful white dress along with a Kentucky Derby-style hat as she schmoozed with the youngsters. One of them even brought her a bouquet of flowers!
And while South African orphans love her, it seems that environmentalist groups are slamming Paris for her 12-day 20,000 mile flight schedule. Apparently the heiress is using too many fossil fuels in too little time, hence increasing the pollution in the air.
It’s a Boy for Melissa Joan Hart
Melissa Joan Hart, best known as the star of TV’s Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and her musician husband, Mark Wilkerson, welcomed their first child, a baby boy, on Wednesday, PEOPLE has learned exclusively.
Mason Walter Wilkerson was born at 4:19 p.m. in Los Angeles, and weighed in at 9 lbs. exactly.
“He was a little stubborn, but all is well,” the actress tells PEOPLE. “Everyone is well and we are all relieved.”
When news of the star’s pregnancy was reported last June, her mother, Paula Hart, told PEOPLE, “I’m thrilled to death. I’m so excited. Melissa is feeling great. So far, so good.”
At her Nov. 28 baby shower, the mom-to-be and 35 guests gathered at Paula’s San Fernando Valley home to decorate onesies, eat homemade lasagna and cupcakes and marvel at her bump. “I have this enormous belly,” she told PEOPLE. “Everyone tells me I won’t make it to January.”
Hart, 29, and Wilkerson, 28, the lead singer and guitarist for the hard-rock trio Course of Nature, met when she introduced his band at the Kentucky Derby’s Mint Jubilee cancer fund-raiser in Louisville, Ky., in May 2002. “It was love at first sight,” Hart said. “We made eye contact, and my knees got weak.”
They were married in Florence, Italy, on July 19, 2003. Since Sabrina had ended its seven-year run just three months earlier, the couple were eager to focus on their future. As Hart told PEOPLE, “we can start enjoying the rest of our lives together.”
Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt’s Day at the Derby
Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt’s Day at the Derby
Reality co-star couple Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt were on hand in the bluegrass state, as the duo attended the 134th running of the Kentucky Derby on Saturday (May 3).
Held at the famed Churchill Downs track, the stars of The Hills gladly posed for photographers upon arrival, with Heidi wearing a strapless, multi-colored floral print dress with a pink Kentucky Derby hat and Spencer sticking with a seasonable suit and tie.
During the race, the peroxide blonde pair cheered on as Big Brown validated himself as a super horse Saturday by winning the granddaddy of all equestrian races.
On a sad note, the event had a tragic end - “as filly Eight Belles, who finished second, had to be euthanized on the track after collapsing and breaking both front ankles.”
Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt Do Lunch
Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt Do Lunch
This past weekend, they were looking all prim and proper at the Kentucky Derby, but yesterday Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt were back to their usual look.
The “Hills” couple was spotted having lunch at Café Vida in Pacific Palisades yesterday looking casual and relaxed.
Heidi sported an animal print hoodie layered overtop a white t-shirt with a pair of distressed jeans, while Spencer opted for a black “Made in LA” t-shirt with a pair of dark trousers.
And it sounds like we’ll be seeing more and more of these two this fall, as “The Hills” has officially been greenlighted for a fourth season by MTV.
A source told press, “The fourth season will be about what they ended up doing this summer. Lauren and Whitney will still be working at People’s Revolution. They just started shooting.”
