Miley Cyrus: "Coolest. Person. Ev-er!"

Miley Cyrus, People Magazine

If only every 15-year-old could have Miley Cyrus’ self-esteem.

“Coolest. Person. Ev-er!” she joked to People in a recent interview when asked how she would describe herself.

Then, upon reflection, she replied, “I think I’m chill. I am very hyper but I’m very carefree.”

Aside from her calm and collected side, Cyrus also reveals a few of her oh-so-teenage proclivities, such as her desire for a new car when she turns 16, her big crush on the coolest handbags and her beauty regimenmascara and a suntan.

Ah, to still be years away from voting age.

The star of the upcoming Hannah Montana Movie, which she’s been filming in Nashville this summer, also admits to eating ketchup right out of the bottle (now there’s something the paparazzi have missed) and preferring tomboy wear and Juicy Couture sweats when she doesn’t have to be all dolled up.

But although she might not be your typical girly-girl, it’s not as if she doesn’t make time to think about boys: Ask her who she prefers, McDreamy or McSteamy, and she’ll tell you that she’s a Dempsey girl all the way.

Of course, all this chit-chat is probably just leading up to a few more pressing topics, such as what Cyrus has learned in the wake of the Vanity Fair photo flap.

“A lot has happened,” she says. “There have been a lot of changes, but it’s all good. I’ve been really blessed.”

The teen says that she still has things to learn about “knowing which people I can trust and being more aware of my surroundings. It’s like DorothyI’m not in Kansas anymore.”

Meanwhile, the Disney Channel phenom has a new Hannah-free album, Breakout, ready to drop July 22, all just part of her plan to conquer the world by 18.

Madonna always reinvents herself, and that’s what I want to do,” Cyrus says. “Whatever comes my way that sounds good, that’s what I want to do. Whether it’s designing clothes or photography or whatever.”

Paula Says She’s Straight-Up Single

JT Torregiani, Paula Abdul

Paula Abdul is back on the market.

Abdul’s publicist, Jeffrey Ballard, confirms exclusively to News that Abdul and her boyfriend, restauranteur J.T. Torregiani, have been not together for at least two months.

“They broke up months ago,” Ballard tells E!, adding that the couple, who moved in together last year, are no longer cohabitating. has learned that J.T. is now living with a friend in the Hollywood Hills.

Abdul, 46, announced she was dating Torregiani, who is 12 years her junior, last July.

The American Idol judge told the Today show’s Matt Lauer at the time that Torregiani was “a good guy” and that her personal life was “looking upwards.”

“Things are looking good right now,” Abdul said.

Torregiani is one of the partners of the Dolce Group, a restaurant and nightclub enterprise, which includes Los Angeles hot spots Les Deux, Geisha House, Bella, Ketchup and Dolce.

They were last spotted together celebrating Torregiani’s birthday at Beso restaurant in Hollywood on May 19. According to Abdul’s publicist, the couple still remain on good terms.

They “still are friendly, though,” Ballard tells E!

But apparently someone hasn’t gotten the memo from Paula’s publicist.

When contacted by for comment, a rep for Torregiani insisted they are still dating.

Danny Trejo Says Machete Movie Still Happening, Possible Trilogy

machete2.jpg

Update (04/01/08): JoBlo reports via a reader who attended the same event as Bloody Disgusting that Danny Trejo said that Robert Rodriguez may “start up again” on Machete as early as this month. More on this as/if it develops…

Gore hounds and knife show infomerical zombies, rejoice! In yet more machete-related news, Blood Disgusting ran into fanboy favorite Danny Trejo over the weekend and he gave the requisite Machete update. According to Mr. Trejo, not only is the first (and only?) Grindhouse spin-off movie still happening, but there’s been talk of a trilogy. Keeping in mind that the first pseudo-exploitation flick would go straight-to-DVD, three of them wouldn’t seem completely outside the realms of possibility/profitability. Can you imagine the stain a Machete box set would leave on your coffee table?

He didn’t elaborate much more, but did say that Robert Rodriguez will direct the first film as well as produce, hopefully once he finishes up an unspecified project. If you’re wondering what Machete would be about, stare hard at the image above and squirt ketchup all over your screen. As much as I loathed Once Upon a Time in Mexico and was dumbfounded by the can’t-walk-the-talk dilemma that was Planet Terror, it would be great to see Rodriguez jam econo on three low budget action films in the spirit of a seedier, more nihilistic El Marachi. More on Machete if it ever develops…

R-Rated “Red Band” Trailers Return to Regal Movie Theaters

red-is-back.jpg

“I’m back. [belch!]”

Oh yes, to be bathed in ketchup-colored red by an R-rated movie trailer inside a cinema. It’s been nearly a decade since the largest theater chain in North America, Regal Entertainment Group, showed its last restricted movie trailer but times are a changing. Regal will reintroduce the kid hating trailers before R-rated and NC17-rated films, with other exhibitors expected to follow suit.

Be sure to thank Judd Apatow, whose open endorsement of filthy dialogue and red band trailers for Knocked Up and Superbad, which were posted exclusively on the Internet and turned into outright sensations, helped jump start the decision. And, while you’re at it, thank Peter at Slashfilm, who lead the ‘Net charge and got rid of those pesky age restriction gates to many squares’ chagrin.

Back in 2000, a report by the Federal Trade Commission spanked the entertainment industry for marketing violence to children, even though back in those “wild days” red band trailers still weren’t supposed to be shown in front of a PG or G films. The red promotional tide was soon gone from mainstream theaters, and looking back on it, crowd pleasing R-rated films also went the way of John McClane spouting profanity at evil doers. So, lovers of R-rated films, Sexman and those in between: dance.
