Sarah Michelle Gellar Is Breathing Easy

Sarah Michelle Gellar Is Breathing Easy

Taking a break from scaring the crap out of audiences in the Grudge franchise, Sarah Michelle Gellar attended the premiere of her new flick The Air I Breathe last night.

The Scooby Doo actress was most definitely the belle of the ball, dressed in an atypical light blue sleeveless dress with gold accents and a prom-style updo.

And it sounds like Gellar has surrounded herself with a who’s who of costars in her new movie.  Everyone from Forest Whitaker to Brendan Fraser to the iconic Kevin Bacon make up the ensemble cast of The Air I Breathe.

The Internet Movie Database describes the film as, “A drama based on an ancient Chinese proverb that breaks life down into four emotional cornerstones: happiness, pleasure, sorrow and love. A businessman (Whitaker) bets his life on a horse race; a gangster (Fraser) sees the future; a pop star (Gellar) falls prey to a crime boss (Garcia); a doctor (Bacon) must save the love of his life.”

The Air I Breathe opens in limited release on January 25th.

Scarlett Johansson’s Directorial Debut

Scarlett Johansson’s Directorial Debut

Making her directorial debut, Scarlett Johansson was busy bossing Kevin Bacon around the NYC set for the movie “New York, I Love You” on Monday (March 10).

The Other Boleyn Girl actress is one of many renowned international artists and directors who are collectively putting together their short films to make up “New York, I Love You” in its entirety.

A synopsis provided by IMDB tells of the theme: “New York, I Love You is an anthology film illustrating the universal theme of encountering love within the five boroughs of New York City”

Other directors participating in the “New York, I Love You” project include Zach Braff, Mira Nair, Allen Hughes, Albert Hughes, Brett Ratner and Fatih Akin.

Natalie Portman Loves New York

Natalie Portman Loves New York

She’s on top of the world with a hit film, “The Other Boleyn Girl” in theaters now.  But Natalie Portman isn’t about to slow down.

Continuously honing her craft, the “Garden State” actress has been fastidiously working on a new anthology film called “New York, I Love You.”

It’s a conglomeration of several love stories set in the Big Apple, and her “Boleyn” pal Scarlett Johansson is also involved, directing the segment starring Kevin Bacon.

In “New York, I Love You” Portman plays a Jewish bride.  She was spotted by paparazzi in character with her Hasidic Jewish co-star filming a scene at the Brooklyn Bridge yesterday.  She looks pretty convincing, eh?
