With all of the celebrity restaurant appearances these days, you gotta wonder - does anyone cook anymore? Last night, Britney Spears was spotted out to dinner at Sur restaurant in West Hollywood.
The “Gimme More” songstress looked flirty in a black-with-embroidered-designs minidress teamed with a pair of massive platform heels and an oversized black handbag.
Meanwhile, her ex-hubby Kevin Federline was spotted on the opposite coast, doing a little shopping with some guy pals in Miami, Florida. He looked cool and relaxed in a baggy grey t-shirt along with a pair of shorts and white sneakers.
As far as their ongoing custody case, it seems Brit and Kevin are indeed headed back to court this August. A recent meeting with a mediator reportedly wasn’t enough to settle things.
K-Fed’s lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, told press, “The mediation didn’t result in an agreement that would avoid the trial set in August … The mood was comfortable, positive and it was a mood that was consistent with opening at least a great dialogue, which is necessary.”

Earlier this week Britney Spears and Kevin Federline were unable to come to an agreement regarding the custody of their sons Jayden James and Sean Preston. And yesterday the “Gimme More” songstress was spotted paying her lawyer a visit.
Miss Spears and her bodyguard were seen arriving at her lawyer’s office in Los Angeles, California looking serious. Brit sported a summery pink top with Capri jeans and a pair of heeled sandals.
And while the “How I Met Your Mother” ratings jumped when the “Piece of Me” singer hit the screen, it seems she won’t be in the race for a Best Guest Actress Emmy Award.
For whatever reason, Britney didn’t make the top 11 list of guest actresses for this year’s consideration. Also joining her in the Snub Department are Sarah Chalke (Scrubs blonde who played Spears’ boss on HIMYM), Mary-Kate Olsen (for her role as a Bible-thumper on Weeds) and Alyssa Milano (for her role on My Name is Earl).

She’s known for many things, but golfing certainly isn’t one of them. Nonetheless, Kristin Cavallari was doing her thing at the Miami Beach Golf Course over the weekend.
The Laguna Beach babe was in town for the Irie Weekend 2008 Celebrity Golf Tournament, an event hosted by DJ Irie to benefit Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Greater Miami.
And while Kristin may not have had the best golfing skills out there, she sure looked good trying, sporting a sleeveless cream-colored minidress complete with massive platform heels.
Also hitting the links for the kids were Timbaland, Kevin Federline, Brody Jenner, Danny Masterson, and Nick Cannon.

For awhile now she’s been giving it her all, trying to get her personal and professional life back on track. And the latest update in the Britney Spears comeback story is that she may be considering a performance at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.
According to MTV Networks Music President Van Toffler, they may be in the position to invite the “Gimme More” singer back to the stage for the 2008 show. He told press, “Everyone deserves a second chance or third chance, right?”
Despite her lackluster performance last year, MTV saw some pretty sweet ratings which is all the more reason for them to invite her back again. A source told FOX Pop Tarts, “When I first saw it I started to panic. But I soon realized that this was obviously going to get a lot of attention around the world.”
In personal news, Brit enjoyed her first overnight visit (since her January meltdown) with sons Jayden James and Sean Preston on Saturday night. And it seems she wasn’t ready for them to leave the next morning.
An insider revealed, “Britney was very upset after the kids left. She now does not know when she will get them next for an overnight. She complains it could be next week, or it could be three months.”
Spears and ex-husband Kevin Federline will be meeting up back in court for a custody trial to take place in August.
