Four Talking Posters From The Spirit

When I first heard that Yahoo had talking posters from Frank Miller’s The Spirit, I thought to myself “Cool, this is the future of movie marketing”. I mean, eventually one-sheet displays will be replaced with flatscreen televisions which can easily switch in and out various movie posters. Say a screening of The Happening just gets out, the theater can load movie posters of films that people who went to see an M Night movie would also enjoy. As you leave The Dark Knight, posters from other comic book movies would light your path of exit. And this new technology would allow for animated and interactive posters.
So when I clicked over to Yahoo I was very disappointed to find four standard character posters. The talking gimmick is just a gimmick. You move your mouse over a poster and a sound clip from that character is played. Sure, it’s interaction, but pretty lamely executed. I was expecting for the characters to come to life. I was expecting their lips to move. Was I expecting too much? Check out the lameness for yourself on Yahoo. Or you could star at the four posters above and pretend they are saying the superimposed quotes. It’s probably just as good.
Terminator 4 Teaser Trailer Attached to The Dark Knight
An advance look at a marketing teaser poster for McG’s Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins was revealed at the New York Licensing Show. The tagline on the bottom reads “Becoming Self-Aware Memorial Day 2009”
MTV says that the first official teaser poster will hit theaters on July 18th, to coincide with Warner Bros’ release of The Dark Knight. Attached to the Batman sequel will be the film’s first teaser trailer. The film is only a month into production, so it’s likely that the teaser will contain little or no footage from the actual film. And hey, you were going to The Dark Knight anyways, now you have another reason to be excited. And who knows, we might even get a peak at Zack Snyder’s Watchmen too (that is, unless they decide to hold off until Comic-Con)
Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins hits theaters on May 22nd 2009.
Mariah Carey’s Los Angeles Getaway
Mariah Carey’s Los Angeles Getaway
Mariah Carey has been spending time in Los Angeles, as she landed in the City of Angels on a private jet late Sunday night.
Keeping things first class, the Say Somethin singer drove around in a Bentley, busily shopping in Beverly Hills, followed up with a trip to high-end restaurant Ago on Monday evening.
Carey, who just launched a new perfume in September, is building towards the release of a new studio album - and looks to be employing a clever marketing scheme.
An insider tells, “(Carey) is stepping into a creative new direction by releasing her next single as a keyring. The dangly pink heart will be attached to a USB port that fans can then pop into their computer and play the tune.”
