Miley Cyrus Is Just Like Us! (If We Were on the Cover of Billboard)

Miley Cyrus, Billboard Magazine

Miley Cyrus graces the latest cover of Billboard, dishing about coming of age, being taken seriously as an artist and the controversy surrounding her naughty, naughty shoulder blade.

We’ve always loved us some Miley, but we find it hard to take a woman too seriously when all 90 pounds of her is saying stuff like, “I’m a good ol’ Southern girl that likes her Cracker Barrel at 9 o’clock at night and if I want it, gosh darn, I’m going to eat it. I’m not going to make myself miserable.”

Uh-huh. Here are more of her “imperfections” in some Hannah highlights:

On Her Album: “It’s grown-up. I wrote all the songs except two. My last one, Meet Miley Cyrus, was more just meeting me, finding out who I am, and here it’s more getting in depth of what’s been going on in my life in the past year.”

On Her Art: “No matter how long what I’m doing here lasts, I want to be a songwriter for the rest of my life…I just hope this record showcases thatmore than anythingI’m a writer.

“I wrote my first song when I was probably 7it was called ’Pink.’ That shows what kind of song it was aboutit’s about the color pink. But you know what, darn it, I wrote it and I’ve been writing since I was my little sister’s age.”

On Her Shoulder: “I was embarrassed,” she says of her famous Vanity Fair photo shoot. “But also it’s like, every career thing that I do can’t be perfect, and sometimes my decisions are wrong. I think that just makes me even more relatable. I don’t think people will look at me any differently because they’re like, ‘You know what, I’m going to do stupid stuff too, and I’m going to make mistakes, and that’s fine.’ It still hurts when I think about it.”

Alleged Aly & AJ Stalker Arraigned

Alyson Michalka, Amanda Michalka, AJ, Aly

Aly & AJ have dodged a potential uh-oh.

Authorities are accusing an Ohio man of stalking the tween-fave pop queens, otherwise known as Alyson Michalka, 19, and Amanda Michalka, 17.

Rex Mettler appeared in Fairfield County Municipal Court today and pleaded not guilty to a felony charge of menacing by stalking, per the Lancaster Eagle-Gazette. Bond was set at $250,000.

Mettler was ordered to submit to a mental-health assessment and is due back in court July 3 for a preliminary hearing.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department was tipped off about threats purportedly directed at the siblings and in turn contacted authorities in Lancaster, Ohio, where local police took the 42-year-old Mettler into custody yesterday at his job at a water-bottling company.

According to Sgt. Mike Peters, investigators obtained further evidence after executing a search warrant on Mettler’s residence.

Police would not comment on whether the threats specifically dealt with the sisters’ concert Friday night in Cincinnati, 100 miles south of Lancaster. Promoters said the show will go on as scheduled.

But the alleged harassment dates back to December, when Mettler began sending emails, handwritten notes and making blog posts targeting the teen singers. His identity was uncovered after Los Angeles sheriff’s deputies traced emails to his computer through his IP address.

Alyson (aka Aly) played the bubbly Keely Teslow on the Disney Channel’s time-traveling comedy Phil of the Future from 2004 to 2006.

Amanda (AJ) has appeared on General Hospital and HBO’s Six Feet Under and has a bit role in Peter Jackson’s highly anticipated film The Lovely Bones.

As Aly & AJ, the sisters toured with Miley Cyrus earlier this year and have released three albums, the first of which, Into the Rush, went platinum.

Bolt Trailer

A trailer for Disney’s Bolt has appeared online and can be seen below.

At the beginning when I saw all of the ‘I’ve altered him, he can protect you know’ and then the huge superbark I got rather excited, however it then cut to a normal movie about a dog who finds some friends and goes on a journey. Don’t get me wrong it looks good, and will look even cooler in 3D, however I’d prefer superdogs and evil villains rather than a deluded canine voiced by John Travolta who is trying to find a girl who has the same voice as Miley Cyrus.

Bolt Movie Trailer

Disney has released the trailer for Bolt. Does anyone else find it ironic that an Elvis Presley song is used in the trailer for a movie in which Lilo & Stitch director Chris Sanders was removed as director? I talked about the controversy behind this project last week, if you haven’t had a chance, check it out here.

I’ll admit that because of the backstory, it’s hard for me to be accept Disney’s reworking of Sander’s original designs. But aside from the groan inducing trick opening, the movie doest look all that bad. Sure, the characters and situations don’t look nearly as interesting or as original as Sander’s designs, but it also doesn’t look as generic as past Disney efforts. Plus releasing the film in 3D at least guarantees a fun theatrical experience. Could it be the John Lasseter effect? I’d be interested to hear the opinions of readers who didn’t feel an attachment to Sander’s American Dog concept art. What do you think?

For super-dog Bolt (voiced by John Travolta), every day is filled with adventure, danger and intrigue – at least until the cameras stop rolling. When the canine star of a hit TV show is accidentally shipped from his Hollywood soundstage to New York City, he begins his biggest adventure yet – a cross-country journey through the real world. Armed only with the delusions that all his amazing feats and powers are real, and with the help of two unlikely traveling companions – a jaded, abandoned housecat named Mittens (voiced by Susie Essman), and TV-obsessed hamster in a plastic ball named Rhino – Bolt discovers he doesn’t need superpowers to be a hero. Miley Cyrus (“Hannah Montana”) brings her vocal talents to the role of Penny, Bolt’s human co-star on the television series.
