Ashlee and Nicole’s Double Date Night
Pete Wentz and his possibly preggers fiancée Ashlee Simpson had a double date last night with none other than new parents and fellow bold-faced names Nicole Richie and Joel Madden. Ash is in New York promoting her new CD Bittersweet World, while Nic and Joel were in town for the east coast leg of Good Charlotte's tour.
Wonder if new mama Nic gave Ash some parenting tips in between bites?
Monk and Psych are coming to NBC
Many of us expected to see the names of a few cable series when the major networks released their updated winter schedules because not only would it help fill the void but also give those series a chance at getting a new audience. Sadly, it wasn’t the case. However, NBC announced today that the upcoming seasons of USA Network’s Psych and Monk would air on NBC in March.
New episodes of both series will first air, as usual, Fridays on USA Network starting in January, 11. Psych and Monk will then have the opportunity to expand their audience when each air their latest season on Sunday nights on NBC starting in March. Luckily, NBC decided to air both series in a block as it is done on USA. No exact NBC premiere date was given.
Monk stars Tony Shalhoub, who won many awards for his portayal of obsessive-compulsive detective Adrian Monk. Psych features James Roday who works as a police consultant in the series. He lets everyone think he is a psychic but in reality, he just has a fantastic sense of observation.
New Posters: The Incredible Hulk and Tropic Thunder
Universal has released a new UK quad poster for The Incredible Hulk. Meanwhile Paramount has released a combined character poster for Tropic Thunder. Notice how Ben Stiller has been moved to the middle of the group. I noticed in many movie theaters (and even subways) the three character posters were placed next to each other so that the actor credits above the final two names read “Black Downey Jr.” I’m pretty sure it wasn’t intentional, but it’s still unintentionaly funny). I remember seeing a photo of vandalized versions of the character posters which pointed out this fact, although I can no longer find the image.

Kevin Smith Reveals Zack and Miri Shooting Details
Kevin Smith has recently revealed a few minor new details about his upcoming comedy Zack and Miri Make a Porno. Interestingly enough, Smith will be returning to the place where he filmed Dogma almost exactly ten years ago. As it turns out, they will be shooting the movie over 40-days in Pittsburgh instead of the planned/scripted Minnesota locale. Why?
“Cheaper to shoot in Boston, Connecticut and Pittsburgh right now. We opted for Pittsburgh.”
Smith also revealed that the forty some-odd day shoot will be done both in studio and on location. Smith has also decided to shoot the movie on 35mm instead of digital. I’m assuming that if Smith’s Red State happens, it will probably be shot on the latter (but that’s just an assumption).
And casting? Smith says the names will probably become public knowledge in the next couple weeks. Kevin has recently confirmed that Jason Mewes is in the movie, and for the first time in View Askew history, he will not be playing “Jay” of infamous duo “Jay and Silent Bob”.
