Ashley Olsen Steps Out with Justin Bartha

Ashley Olsen Steps Out with Justin Bartha

She’s normally pretty elusive, especially when it comes to her personal life.  But last night Ashley Olsen didn’t seem to mind being seen in public with her current love interest Justin Bartha.

The “Full House” cutie was spotted on her way to the Tribeca Cinemas premiere of “Trumbo” in New York City with her “National Treasure” beau in tow.

And she looked conservative-yet-flirty in a grey scoopneck top underneath a dark blazer with a pair of belted black jeans and black strappy sandals.

Meanwhile, Bartha dressed it up a bit in a plaid-patterned button-up shirt with a pair of dark trousers and black shoes.  Are these two just a fling, or could it last?

Jon Voight joins 24

Jon VoightOscar-winner Jon Voight, father of a certain actress called Angelina Jolie, will return to the small screen this fall. The actor, who recently appeared in movies such as National Treasure and Transformers, was cast in an important role on FOX’s hit series 24.

The 69-year-old actor may be best known for his movies but he is no stranger to TV. He appeared in a handful of made-for-TV movies, in mini-series such as the 1993 Return to Lonesome Dove in which he played lead character Capt. Woodrow F. Call, and in series like Gunsmoke for example.

Slight spoilers after the jump!

TV Guide reports that Voight will make his first 24 appearance in the two-hour prequel special to air on November 23 on FOX. He will then appear in most of the episodes of the second part of the series’ seventh season starting in January 2009. Since around 10 episodes of next season have been completed, expect Voight to appear on the show around episodes 11 to 13.

Voight will need to channel his inner baddie for the role because he was cast as the evil doer of the season. Supposedly, Tony Almeida’s will not be as bad as Voight’s character will. Not much more is known about the character but The Hollywood Reporter says that he’ll be behind the terrorist threat Jack must try to stop.

Steven Weber is getting Psyched

Steven WeberShawn Spencer’s family is growing. First, there’s his mother, Madeline, coming to Santa Barbara for a visit, in the personage of Cybill Shepherd. And now comes news that another major television star is coming on board for a guest role. Steven Weber will be appearing in an episode of Psych as Shawn’s Uncle Jack.

Jack is Henry’s brother, although I don’t see a big resemblance between Corbin Bernsen and Steven Weber. However, if the character is more like Shawn, that will give Weber a chance to play it wild and wacky. Maybe he’ll be like his Brian Hackett incarnation on Wings.

According the TV Guide, this Psych episode sounds sort of like a Raiders of the Lost Ark/National Treasure adventure. Uncle Jack comes to town in search of a treasure. He has a map to a hidden Spanish cache of goodies and enlists Shawn and Gus in his search. Now you just know that James Roday will be pulling out a bullwhip and Fedora.

Weber, by the way, is expected back on Brothers and Sisters next season as Sarah’s part-time lover. When the show wrapped, their romance was still humming.

Matthew Marsden Joins Transformers 2

Relatively unknown British actor Matthew Marsden has joined the cast of Transformers 2. Marsden was in a British soap around 10 years ago and then jetted off to the US and found acting jobs in Black Hawk Down, DOA: Dead or Alive, Resident Evil: Extinction and more recently Rambo.

MTV Movies Blog say that he will play the role of “Graham,” a character who is part of the British Special Forces.

In the sequel, Graham teams with Duhamel and Tyrese’s military characters, joining their efforts as they do battle with the evil Decepticons.

The casting of Graham, and the presence of the British Special Forces, would seem to indicate that Bay might do some filming in the U.K. Cameras are scheduled to begin rolling on the fast-forming flick in a matter of weeks.

Could it be that Transformers 2 will go down the ‘lets go to the UK for the sequel’ route? Agent Cody Banks did it, as did Mary Kate and Ashley, National Treasure, Fantastic Four 2 (briefly) and Garfield. I think its safe to assume that the whole film will not be set in the UK, but it just seems the Hollywood thing to do.

Anyway, its good to see Marsden finally landing a decent sized role in a big film, he’s been trying for 10 years!

MTV News has also learned that director Michael Bay was so impressed while meeting with Marsden that he has considerably beefed up the role of Graham from the original script, to accommodate the actor.
