Razzie Award Nominees Announced

“Please, Oscar! Don’t!”

The Academy’s famously snide sib, The Razzies, announced its nominations for the worst movies, performances and direction of 2007 today. Leading the lepers is the already cultish Lindsay Lohan stripper-twin-Blue Velvet-for-Proactiv-set thriller I Know Who Killed Me with nine noms, including Worst Picture. And that seals it: I’m finally going to consider watching it stoned one day when I’m 70. Lohan actually scored two Worst Actress noms for playing twins. Cute. But there’s still no way it’s worse than The Number 23, which was excluded for Worst Picture. A travesty. Winners of the Little Naked Gold Man will be announced on February 23rd. Here are the major noms…where the hell is Who’s Your Caddy?

Bratz - Lionsgate

Daddy Day Camp - Sony/Tri-Star/Revolution

Video: National Treasure 2 Car Chase Scene

National Treasure 2

Disney has uploaded a sneak preview of a car chase sequence from National Treasure: Book of Secrets to help promote the sequel, which hits theaters on December 21st 2007. It’s your basic car chase sequence, nothing remotely special. Check out the National Treasure 2 Car Chase.

Final National Treasure: Book of Secrets Movie Trailer

National Treasure: Book of Secrets

I get crap fro all my movie critic and intellectual friends for saying this, but I really enjoyed the first National Treasure. I’m sure I’ll even get some flack in the comments for saying so. It was a fun, sit back, relax, much on some popcorn, sip on some soda, no need to think, type of movie. And sure, the concept was completely stolen from Dan Brown’s Da Vinci Code novels, but who really cares? To be honest, National Treasure was a far more entertaining movie than Ron Howard’s adaptation of the Code. I also must admit that the first trailer for Disney’s sequel National Treasure: Book of Secrets worried me. It looked bad, but not in a good way. Thankfully, the second full length trailer which hit the interwebs tonight is a much better cut. My only complaint right now is that, much like a lot of trailers, it probably shows too much. You can check out this new trailer below.

New 1-18-08/Cloverfield Trailer and Title, Christmas Speed Racer Trailer

New 1-18-08/Cloverfield Movie Trailer

I’ve been hearing in the past couple weeks from a number of sources that a new 1-18-08/Cloverfield movie trailer will premiere in front of Beowulf on November 16th. Our friends at ComingSoon seem to be pretty sure that this is actually true. I mean, it does makes sense as it’s Paramount big film before the release of the JJ Abrams-produced monster movie. Will the movie be called 1-18-08? Cloverfield? Overnight? We might find out on November 16th.

SciFi has also learned that a Speed Racer trailer will be released sometime around Christmas.

“…it’s pretty spectacular. So you’ll see it pretty soon,” said producer Joel Silver.

I’m guessing that the trailer will be attached to National Treasure: Book of Secrets or Sweeney Todd. The Disney sequel seems more likely as Speed Racer is rated G.
