Lauren Conrad Preps for LA Fashion Week
Lauren Conrad Preps for LA Fashion Week
Sure, she’s the cute and quasi-innocent designer wannabe we all know and love from “The Hills.” But Lauren Conrad has her sights set much higher, and she’s taking the necessary steps to achieve her aspirations.
Yesterday, she was spotted along with pal Whitney Port at the Orthodox Fall 2008 collection show as part of Los Angeles Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. And come Tuesday, the spectators at Fashion Week will get an eyeful of LC’s creations.
That’s right, Conrad is showcasing her very own collection tomorrow, and while she’s still a little wet behind the ears, something tells us this girl is gonna surprise even her most vehement critics.
Of being showcased at LA Fashion Week, Lauren told press, “I’m really nervous. It’s one thing to have your designs displayed in stores. To have them walk down the runway is a really big deal.”

Truth: Impossible - Chef Robert Irvine caught in a web of lies
You’d think by now that people would know better. Embellishing a resume, adding credits that are the work of a vivid imagination rather than hard work… they’re bound to be unearthed someday. Especially if you’re a success. The latest prevaricator caught in a series of lies is Food Network’s British chef Robert Irvine. In a scathing expose by the St. Petersburg Times, the star of Dinner: Impossible, has been caught with egg on his face. Make that more like egg salad. Multiple claims by Irvine, including creating Princess Diana’s wedding cake, cooking for White House dinners, being knighted by the queen, and more, have turned out to be tall tales.
Eww! That smarts. This isn’t the first time Food Network has been stung by the truth. Last year, during the penultimate episode of The Food Network Star 3, one of the finalists, Josh “JAG” Garcia, was disqualified when it was learned he lied about his military service as well as his cooking expertise. Speaking for Food Network, a press rep said, “We are investigating the matter and taking the necessary steps to ensure the accuracy of all representations of Robert on Food Network and foodnetwork.com.”
It’ll take some clever cooking for Chef Robert to overcome this challenge to his image. His show, which sets up each challenge the chef must complete on the episode while the clock is ticking in the mode of Mission: Impossible, is in its second season on the network and is a hit. More than that, the chef has been prominently featured on a variety of other Food Network programs and is considered one of their rising stars.

Katherine Heigl and Josh Kelley Get Healthy
Katherine Heigl and Josh Kelley Get Healthy
Yesterday, Katherine Heigl and fiancé Josh Kelley were spotted out in Los Angeles grabbing a couple health shakes. They spent 15 minutes scoping out the different recipes before deciding on some drinks to go and snuggling up with each other.
Looks like these two are getting into gameshape for their upcoming nuptials. With less than a month until they tie the knot, you can be sure Katherine and Josh are taking the necessary steps to make sure they’re happy and healthy for their big day.
Earlier in the week, the Grey’s Anatomy starlet celebrated her 29th birthday at the Malibu location of Nobu. Katherine went for the sexy librarian look with a tweed blazer and wore her hair in a bun.
And when it came time for the birthday cake, it became a restaurant-wide affair. “When the cake came, the whole restaurant sang ‘Happy Birthday dear Katie,’” reported an eyewitness.
Is Kevin Federline A Good Dad?
Is Kevin Federline A Good Dad?
With the recent decision by the LA County Judge to give full custody of Jayden James and Sean Preston to their father Kevin Federline, people are wondering what kind of father the former Mr. Britney Spears will be.
According to Dorian Traube, a social work professor at USC, K-Fed just may be up for the challenge. “Lately, he’s really kind of stepped up as a father. We don’t hear much about how he parents his other kids. But with his children with Britney, he’s gone to great lengths to keep them out of the public eye and he’s gone to great lengths to keep the grandparents involved.”
And Traube says that Federline is taking all the necessary steps to ensure his boys will be safe in their new full-time home. “He recently put a safety fence around his pool. He is genuinely worried about the welfare of his children and what they might be experiencing when they’re with their mother.”
Even before his divorce from Brit, Kevin talked about putting the kids first. Back in October of 2006, he told press, “I would just work out of my house the whole time and I could spend as much time as I needed to spend with my children. But it’s still never enough.”
There’s another court date coming up today (October 3) to further discuss the custody arrangement between Federline and Spears. In the meantime, the boys have been enjoying time with their daddy, as well as his nanny.
