Kate Hudson: Shopping with Lance’s Daughter
Kate Hudson: Shopping with Lance’s Daughter
Following a Fourth of July outing at Courteney Cox’s house the previous day, Kate Hudson and Lance Armstrong were side-by-side once again on Saturday (July 5) - shopping at Bentons Sporting Goods store in Santa Monica.
The Fool’s Gold actress and her bicyclist beau took his 6-year-old daughter Isabelle with them on their weekend excursion - with Armstrong’s daughter holding hands with Hudson upon leaving the store.
Meanwhile, Kate isn’t letting her newfound love slow her down career-wise, as it was just announced that she’s lining up yet another role alongside Matthew McConaughey in a remake of Foul Play.
Of the film, which starred Hudson’s mother Goldie Hawn in the original 1978 version, Kate confirmed that negotiations have started but added that “we don’t even have a writer yet.”
No plans to strike, says SAG president
There’s good news and bad news coming from the on-going talks between the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP). The bad news is that there has been very little progress in talks between SAG and the studios concerning a new contract.
With their current contract expiring on June 30th, SAG members are looking for higher pay for “middle-tier” actors, those making less than $100,000 a year, and a greater cut of profits from DVD and new media sales — a main sticking point during this past winter’s Writers Guild strike. In addition to those woes, there are bitter splits taking place between SAG members and those of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA) after the smaller union ratified an agreement with the studios.
The good news, at least for film and television viewers, is that SAG has no immediate plans to strike.
In a statement to the press SAG president Alan Rosenberg said, “We have taken no steps to initiate a strike authorization vote by the members of Screen Actors Guild. Any talk about a strike or a management lockout at this point is simply a distraction.” Rosenberg added that SAG is coming to the negotiations in good faith to settle on a fair contract for their actors. These statements have not eased the fears of the studios: they’ve been rushing to complete their current projects before a proposed strike. Here’s hoping the union and the studios can resolve heir issues.
Zac Efron’s Beverly Hills Business Meeting
Zac Efron’s Beverly Hills Business Meeting
Continuing to increase in frequency, Zac Efron was spotted out in Beverly Hills on Wednesday to attend another business meeting.
In recent weeks, the High School Musical hunk has been involved in negotiations to return for the third installment of the hit Disney franchise.
As reported this past weekend by , Efron met with filmmaker Kenny Ortega, who was carrying papers under his arm which appeared to be a script for the highly anticipated HSM3.
However, Zac is still yet to finalize a contract for the movie, which begins filming this January. Most belive that the 20-year-old is holding out for more money.
Disney has previously released the following statement in regards to the situation: “We are still in negotiations with all of the High School Musical stars.”
But from all of the recent activity, it seems like an announcement could be coming any time now.
Britney Spears’ Potential Movie Role
Britney Spears’ Potential Movie Role
Somebody tell this girl about iTunes! Desperate to purchase CD’s, Britney Spears returned to the Virgin Megastore last night (the same one she found to be closed the previous night).
The “Gimme More” singer wore a sheer grey top (showing off the fact that she indeed found a bra), some hipster jeans, and a pair of cowboy boots. And it looks like she traded in her fedora for a chic urban brimmed knit cap.
After her mediocre acting gig with “Crossroads” back in 2002, it seems Brit is eager to show the world that she really can act. According to a report, she’s in talks with a movie studio to star in a new film called “Memoirs of a Medicated Child.”
The film’s director, Tommy Parker, told press that they’re in negotiations. “As far as Britney’s concerned, we’re talking.”
Funny enough, before Brit, the film’s producers had their sights set on Lindsay Lohan for the lead role.
