Urkel (and Myrtle Urkel, Urkel-Bot, andStefan Urquelle) come to Nick at Nite
I know many of you have been waiting for this moment, so I’ll get right to it. Tonight begins the official entry of Family Matters onto the Nick at Nite schedule. Starting at 9 p.m., there will be a marathon of the series that began as a spinoff of the ABC sitcom Perfect Strangers.
For those unfamiliar with the show, Family Matters was a traditional sitcom about the Winslows — Carl, Harriet, Eddie, Laura, the other daughter that mysteriously disappeared mid-way through the series, Grandma Estelle, Aunt Rachel, and, eventually, cousin Richie. Of course, all of these characters became second bananas to one Steve Urkel, who eventually became the star of the show. Face it, you didn’t tune in to see what wisdom Carl would pass on to his son Eddie. You tuned in to see Urkel breaking something at the Winslow home, fawning over Laura, inventing transformation chambers and Urkel-bots, and uttering the now-famous phrase, “Did I do that?”
To get you warmed up for Urkel specifically and Family Matters as a whole, Nick at Nite has provided an Urkel-O-Meter on their website to determine how much of the suspenders-wearing nerd we have in all of us. By answering a few questions the Urkel-O-Meter tells you if you are suave like Stefan Urquelle, a belle like Myrtle Urkel, or a true, lovable nerd like Urkel himself. After taking the quiz it turns out that I am a true Steve Urkel. Well, no surprise to some of you readers out there, is it?
Big Bang Theory: Where to find Sheldon’s shirts
If you’re a fan of The Big Bang Theory, you’ve probably wondered at some point where they get all the fun nerdy t-shirts that the character of Sheldon wears on the show. Well, I’m sure most of you, being internet-savvy and resourceful, have probably Googled each and every shirt and already have a spreadsheet up on Google Docs that is cross-referenced by episode and topic. But what about the lazy among us, who’d rather eat glass than stare at a spreadsheet all day?
SheldonShirts.com comes to the rescue. It shows screen shots of every shirt Sheldon wears in each episode and where you can get that particular shirt. It also shows where you can get the shirts that the other main character, Leonard, wears, as well as the the belt buckles worn by their perverted buddy Howard. They also make some suggestions for shirts the nerd heroes should wear in the future, as well as provide links to some other stuff that was shown on the program. It’s a good way to waste a couple of hours, whether you’re a nerd, a geek, or neither. It’s especially good for those who are need to find their favorite geek or nerd a birthday present. To those people, you’re welcome in advance.

Star Trek TNG Rap (OR: The video that might bring peace to the multiverse) - VIDEO
Cracked,I take back everything bad I ever said about you. Sure you began life as an also-ran copycat of Mad magazine and sure you dominate digg with a seemingly endless string of under-written pop-culture lists, but popularizing the following video makes it all better. Put it this way, I’m Kobe Bryant’s wife and this video is a $4 million purple diamond ring.
Be warned before you click through, however, this video contains both obscene language and a shirtless Jean-Luc Picard in bed with Q. Also, if you play it more than two or three times, there’s a chance the nerd secret police will repel line right into your office.
That said, this might be the best silly internet video to come out in a long while. I’m convinced it will usher in a new world order, much like the music of Wyld Stallyns. If you’re prepared for that, follow me after the jump…
Now that you’ve seen it, share some of your favorite lines in the comments. (And yes, this is probably going to get a little bit dirty, but if everyone is nice and uses *s for the especially naughty no-no words, we might be able to get through this post without angering the easily angered).
I’ll start: And don’t forget about Counselor Troi, that Betazoid will leave your d*ck destroyed.
I am seriously way too happy that I found this today.
Nerd Alert: Mildly Epic New Star Wars Poster Drops
We're still not sure the all-animated Clones Wars counts as a real Star Wars movie, but this just-out one-sheet goes a long way toward making the case.
It gets close to that epic space opera vibe that defined all the classic illustrated posters. But then, where's the love interest? And the trademark ominous face of the villain?
At least Yoda's there. Yoda's cool. And the whole look of the movie, out Aug. 15, is pretty slick. The trailer debuts tomorrow on Cartoon Network, CNN and three other networks, so hopefully that means, like, more Yoda.
What do you think? Is the Force strong with this one?
