Mariah Carey Wants You To Smell Good

Mariah Carey Wants You To Smell Good

Like many of her celebrity peers, Mariah Carey has found the value in diversifying her career beyond music and acting (if “Glitter” was considered acting.)

The “Always Be My Baby” singer was at the Macy’s in Glendale yesterday peddling her new fragrance “M.” And there were more than a few eager fans that showed up to get their own purple bottle.

Carey describes “M” as smelling like some of her favorite things.  There’s a dash of Moroccan incense, a hint of Living Tahitian Tiare, and to round it all out- toasted marshmallows.

Mariah looked casual and cool in a pair of jeans, black shirt, and blue semi-cardigan.

Hilary Duff: Living it Up Down Under

She’s known the world over as the “good girl” of American pop culture, and Hilary Duff has been stirring up all kinds of pandemonium among her teenage fans in Australia.

The “Lizzie McGuire” actress made a stop at Myer’s Sydney city store earlier today (Australia is almost a full day ahead of the U.S. in reference to time zone) to meet fans, sign autographs, and announce the arrival of her new fragrance, “Wrapped With Love.”

Reportedly, a crowd of hundreds of fans gathered at the Myer’s store to catch a glimpse of Duff, while about 150 lucky teens waited in line to get her autograph.  One fan told press, “We bought tickets to her concert as soon as they went on sale.  We’ve got all of her albums and we love her.  We only like her, not any of the others like Britney.”

Following her perfume launch, Hilary went on to perform a show for an enthusiastic Sydney crowd at the Acer Arena later on in the evening. From here, Duff wraps up her time in Australia on Sunday with a concert in Melbourne.

She has a new fragrance on the market, and pretty soon she will be releasing a new album.  Translation: 2008 may be Mariah Carey’s biggest year yet.

The “We Belong Together” singer was furiously promoting her new single “Touch My Body” yesterday with trips to two major media outlets - MTV’s Total Request Live and BET’s 106 & Park.

At the TRL studios, Mimi looked ghetto-chic in a red see-through top over a black bra coupled with some beat up jeans.

Over at BET, she went a more glamorous route, with a shiny black spaghetti strap shirt and some black leather pants.

Her new album “E=MC2″ is scheduled to drop on April 15th, following a 5.8-million-selling, 3-Grammy-winning “The Emancipation of Mimi.”
