Jimmy Kimmel to air primetime specials
The late night comedian will be appearing during your primetime schedule. Starting tomorrow, Jimmy Kimmel LIve will run special half-hour shows each night that ABC airs the basketball finals. Special guests include: David Beckham, Edward Norton, Charles Barkley, Liv Tyler, Adam Sandler, Eminem, Shaquille O’Neil, Magic Johnson and New Orleans Hornets guard and 2008 MVP contender Chris Paul, among others.
Out of the celebrities mentioned, I’m most interested to see Eminem. I haven’t seen the Real Slim Shady on TV in awhile. He’s always a good interview though — all that contrived hostility and testosterone in overdrive. Who are you looking forward to seeing? Or is Kimmel’s fabulousness enough to get you to tune in?

According to the press release, the shows will also include some of Kimmel’s signature comedy pieces: “a celebrity bowling match, a spelling bee, outrageous basketball tricks and a casino night in which Jimmy’s Aunt Chippy will attempt to win big at Blackjack for each and every audience member.”
LaLa Vazquez Has a Boy with NBA’s Carmelo Anthony
MTV veejay LaLa Vazquez and her fiancé, Denver Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony, welcomed their first child Wednesday afternoon, Vazquez’s rep, Jack Ketsoyan, confirms exclusively to PEOPLE.
The boy, Kiyan, weighed in at 5 lbs., 9 oz., and measured 18½ in. long – with plenty of time to catch up to his 6’8″ father.
“The baby is absolutely gorgeous and I am so excited to have seen my first grandchild!” grandmother Carmen Vazquez tells PEOPLE, adding that baby and mom are “doing fine.”
On Tuesday following the Nuggets’ 106-91 win over the New Orleans Hornets, Anthony told reporters that Vazquez was to have labor induced that night. “The anticipation is always high this time when you’re about to have a baby and about to be a father,” he confessed to the Rocky Mountain News before heading to the Denver-area hospital.
The couple, who got engaged on Christmas Day 2004, have said they plan to wed following the birth. They announced to PEOPLE in September that they were expecting a baby.
Vazquez, 27, is a veejay for MTV shows including TRL, Spring Breakdown and Direct Effect. Anthony, 22, won a bronze medal as a member of the U.S. Olympic basketball team in 2004.

It’s been a good week for celebrity presence at Los Angeles Lakers games. A couple nights ago, David and Victoria Beckham sat courtside to watch the Lakers clobber the Clippers, and last night Kim Kardashian cheered her hometown boys on to victory over the New Orleans Hornets.
Whether there was a conflict of interests involved (Kim’s dating New Orleans Saint Reggie Bush, who is from the same city as the Hornets) we’re yet to see. But it looks like the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” babe was the good luck charm the Lakers needed to edge out the Hornets 107-104.
Earlier in the day, Miss Kardashian was spotted participating in a slightly more familiar activity- combing the racks at her favorite Beverly Hills boutiques.
And she did it in style, sporting a yellow, pink, and purple springtime sundress, with oversized sunglasses and a massive handbag.

The lovely Eva Longoria offered up a wave as she arrived at the Hotel Martinez in Cannes, France on the first day of the Cannes Film Festival (May 14).
The Desperate Housewives actress made the trip without her French native hubby Tony Parker, who’s currently entrenched in a tough NBA playoff series.
Parker and his San Antonio Spurs suffered defeat at the hands of the New Orleans Hornets last night - leaving them one game away from being eliminated.
And although she wants her man to win another championship, there’s no doubt that Eva will be more than happy to fly Tony out to Cannes so she can have him all to herself!
