We Always Knew Kristen Bell Was a Hero…
Hot damn! Joe Adalian over at Variety is reporting that Ms. Kristen Bell (of kickass Veronica Mars fame, of course) will be taking her ass-whooping awesomeness over to Heroes this season.
The nature of her character, named Elle, is shrouded in mystery, but apparently she has ties to Claire, HRG and Peter, and she kicks off her multi-episode arc with a little criminal activity. Aw, Veronica would be proud.
Zachary Quinto's Sylar will be absent for a stretch midseason while Quinto (pictured above at the wedding with Bell and fellow Hero Masi Oka) shoots the new Star Trek with JJ Abrams—perhaps Elle is a substitute minion of evil?

Tom Cruise visits Trek set
Don’t you just love the web? News traveling so fast, ideas extrapolated and speculated upon based on the simplest of facts. That said, here’s a sweet little tidbit that I found amusing. Tom Cruise was spotted on the Los Angeles set of the new Star Trek feature film. He reportedly was visiting writer/director JJ Abrams. The two men, you’ll recall, collaborated on Mission Impossible 3.
This exclusive, courtesy of JFXOnline, revealed that Tom stuck around the set for a couple of hours. Prior to this sighting, there had also been talk last fall that Abrams had wanted to enlist the superstar to make a brief cameo appearance in the revamped Star Trek opus, telling the story of how creator Gene Roddenberry’s original characters came to be. How Captain Kirk made it out of the Star Fleet Academy (in The Wrath of Khan he said he cheated on his Kobyashi Maru simulation test), as well as the first time Kirk met the half-Vulcan, half-human Mr. Spock.
Tom Cruise’s representatives Arnold Robinson, denied the rumors of his appearing in the film, and Paramount hasn’t said much since pushing the opening for the film to May 2009.
I’d like to think that Cruise’s visit — which was more than just a hit-and-run “hello, how are you?’” — means that he actually filmed a quick scene. After all, how cool would it be if he popped up in the feature. I’m not saying they have to cast him in a big part, but couldn’t he appear as a one of those anonymous redshirts that beamed down to a planet and wound up killed in the line of duty? I’d pay to see that. See, doesn’t Tom look good in red?
Scarlett Johansson’s Steamy Lesbian Sex Scene with Penelope Cruz!?
Men everywhere rejoice - Scarlett Johansson filmed a “steamy lesbian sex scene with Penelope Cruz” for Woody Allen’s new star filled porno film Vicky Cristina does Barcelona. A source tells the NY Post that the scene is “extremely erotic” and that “people will be blown away and even shocked.” Apparently, Penelope and Scarlett go at it in a red-tinted photography dark room, and “it will leave the audience gasping.” The duo later have a threesome with No Country For Old Men star Javier Bardem, who plays Penelope’s husband. I’m guessing that scene might be more creepy than hot.
Vicky Cristina Barcelona tells the story of a painter who enters a relationship with two American tourists, but conflict begins with the painter’s jealous ex-girlfriend. The film which also stars Patricia Clarkson, Rebecca Hall, Kevin Dunn and Chris Messina, has completed filming and will likely hit theaters in late-2008.
Terminator Salvation Details Revealed
EW was able to talk to Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins producers Derek Anderson, Victor Kubicek, and Moritz Borman about the fourth film in the Terminator series, directed by McG. Here is what I learned:
- The movie is set to begin shooting in either Australia or Budapest on March 15
- The budget is “north of $150 million.”
- John Connoer (Christian Bale) is the star of the film: “He’s leading the fight for the salvation of humanity against the machines. So he’s very important,” says Anderson.
- A New Terminator co-star will be introduced.
- Arnold Schwarzenegger “may make a cameo.”
