While celebrities are usually spotted checking out high-end boutiques and expensive department stores, Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentzwere all about being frugal yesterday (July 6).
The newlywed parents-to-be were spotted strolling around the Melrose Trading Post held at Fairfax High School, holding hands while looking for bargains.
Looking more pregnant every day, the “Little Miss Obsessive” songstress sported a black maternity tank top and a long black skirt, while her Fall Out Boy hubby stuck to his usual black t-shirt and jeans topped off with a black fedora.
Following their retail jaunt, Pete and Ashlee headed over to Toast Restaurant in Los Angeles to meet a girlfriend for lunch. At one point, Mr. Wentz took off to give the ladies some time for girl talk.

While she was very cautious about announcing her pregnancy too soon, Ashlee Simpson has since begun to embrace her status as mommy-to-be… and she’s not afraid to get a little bit sexy!
The “Little Miss Obsessive” newlywed was spotted out and about in Hollywood, California yesterday sporting a very revealing long brown dress that showed off her new ‘pregnancy curves.’
And as she casually waved to the swarming paparazzi, it was clear that Mrs. Wentz was enjoying the new body that being preggers has afforded her.
But despite her ‘with child’ status (now in her fourth month) Ashlee was hard at work, coming from a meeting at Ren Mar studios. She’s due to give birth this fall.

She’s currently enjoying success with her first foray into country music (her new single is called Come on Over), and Jessica Simpson looks as happy as ever.
The former Newlywed was spotted leaving the Gramercy Hotel in New York City last night on her way to the chic Manhattan restaurant Nobu.
And she looked absolutely radiant in a canary yellow strapless just-below-the-knee-length dress with a pair of matching open-toe heels and a multi-colored clutch.
Obviously absent from the scene was her Dallas Cowboys sweetheart Tony Romo, who Jess commented was “at football practice.” Once he sees these pics he’ll definitely wish he was in NYC!
No Boo-Boo for Mimi
It’ll take more than that honking diamond ring to throw off Mariah Carey’s balance.
Although paparazzi snaps taken yesterday on the Hawaiian set of the newlywed songbird’s new music video, “I’ll Be Lovin’ U Long Time,” seem to suggest Carey suffered some kind of injury, a rep for the singer denies that any mishaps took place during the shoot.
“Nothing happened,” her rep told News. “No truth to this at all.”
The lack of injury didn’t seem to stop Nick Cannon from lending a helping hand to his unhurt wife, making him a rather literal hanger-on to his other half.
Guess the honeymoon’s not over yet.
The Oahu shoot was a last-minute decision for the crooner, as the video was originally scheduled to be filmed in Los Angeles. As is her prerogative, however, Carey changed her mindand the shooting locationbefore the production had a chance to kick off.
“She was so excited to be shooting in Hawaii,” a source told News. “She wanted all her friends to come down and be a part of the shoot.”
Carey and Cannon arrived in Hawaii after a promotional tour in Japan, where the singer threw out the first pitch at a baseball game in Tokyo.
