NYC is the place to be for celebrity sightings as of late. Earlier this week TomKat was in the Big Apple, and yesterday Katherine Heigl and Ellen Pompeo were spotted all over town.
The “Grey’s” girls were observed together with Heigl’s mom and Ellen’s hubby at Pastis restaurant. With their extra-curricular camaraderie, it’s no wonder they flow so well on their show.
Ellen was sporting a blue plaid shirt underneath a dark coat with jeans and some knee-high black leather boots as she exited the restaurant after lunch.
Later, the paparazzi caught the “Knocked Up” actress shopping at Tod’s, wearing a black shiny trenchcoat and a newsboy cap (looks like she’s been shopping in Brad Pitt’s closet).

Let’s just be honest, Brad Pitt has been looking a little scruffy lately. The homeless beard he’s been sporting has been covering up his handsome appearance.
Until now. The “Fight Club” stud was spotted on the set of his new movie “Tree of Life” and it’s amazing what a little shaving cream and a razor can do to revamp a good-looking guy.
Pitt, along with his new mainstay- the newsboy cap- looked baby-faced and beautiful in a layered look including a white long-sleeve t, grey polo-style shirt and some relaxed fit jeans.
“The Tree of Life” puts Pitt together with Sean Penn in a film directed by Terrence Malick. As far as a release date, insiders say we’ll see it open sometime in 2009.

Always looking out for their brood, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt took some time out of their day to browse for a few items at the Pippen Lane store (specializing in kid’s clothes, accessories, and toys) in the Big Easy today.
The Fight Club stud and his Girl, Interrupted partner were spotted on Magazine Street scoping out some post-holiday bargains.
Brad sported the motorcycle tough guy motif, including a leather jacket, boot-cut jeans, and the beginnings of a goatee to go with his soon-to-be trademark newsboy cap.
And Ang took a more conservative route with some white baggy pants and a ¾-length black hooded coat.

Keeping herself busy, Katherine Heigl spent Saturday afternoon (May 10) running errands close to her Los Feliz home.
The Isobel Stevens actress, who’s rumored to be thinking about leaving Grey’s Anatomy, seemed to be in good spirits as she smiled and chatted with a friend.
Clad in a white newsboy cap, Heigl left Gelson’s Market with three carts full of goodies - receiving help to her car from the store’s staff.
Following her market run, Heigl then swung by a small cafe where she picked up two more bags full of food and an iced coffee. Just as she was heading to her SUV to leave, a street musician convinced the starlet to buy one of his homemade CDs off of him.
As for the talk surrounding Miss Heigl’s rumored departure from Grey’s Anatomy, a source revealed to Us Weekly, “She’s working really long hours and is ready to move on. She’s a smart one.”
The 29-year-old is said to be cautiously testing the waters with films like “Knocked Up” and “27 Dresses”, with the insider adding: “She saw what can happen with someone like [”Friends” star], Jennifer Aniston, who was crazy successful on TV, but can’t seem to carry a film, and she tested the waters early.”
