Hulk Hogan to join his son in jail?
Now, that Nick Hogan is cozied up in a new cell for his prison sentence, his father might be joining him. VH1’s Matthew Muro is reporting that Linda Hogan, the Hulkster’s estranged wife, wants to send the former pro-wrestler to jail for not paying his portion of a Las Vegas condo, a property worth 4.2 milion dollars. If Linda gets her wishes, Hulk Hogan would be put in Pinellas County Jail in Florida, the very same jail that holds his son.
VH1 offers the following as reasons why Hulk has not paid his bills: “Is he short on cash? Probably not. Is he planning to hit the slammer intentionally to protect little Nick? No way. Or could it be that he’s trying to cut off Linda’s cash flow so that she can’t lavish any more gifts on her 19-year-old boy toy? Bingo!!”
That’s right. Linda Hogan is dating a 19-year-old guy named Charley. And get this: he went to school school with Brooke and Nick. Linda has apparently bought him a surfboard and a tattoo. And the sex? According to Linda, it’s the best she’s ever had. Eww.
Brooke Hogan, who’s VH1 spin-off show Brooke Knows Best premieres mid-July, talks about her family to the press: “You know, I thought we were one of the normal Hollywood families. It’s crazy watching it all fall apart, but I hope for the best.” I thought the same when I first watched Hogan Knows Best. Hulk was overprotective but caring. Linda was quirky. Brooke and Nick were typical teenagers (well, as typical as they could be growing up with the wrestling icon). And now, look at them. I almost feel bad.
Another Hogan Headed to Jail?
Linda Hogan may be a cougar, but she’s hired a legal pit bull.
The estranged wife of Hulk Hogan has asked a Florida judge to hold the former wrestler in contempt of court for failing to ante up his share of a $4.2 million Las Vegas condo the duo agreed to purchase prior to their separation.
The property was in escrow when they filed for divorce, and a judge at the time ordered both sides to pay half and then include the Palms Hotel pad among their joint assets. While the missus has made good on her share of the payment, the Hulkster has yet to do the same.
In legal papers filed in Pinellas County Family Court last week, Linda Hogan (the family’s legal last name is Bollea), maintained that she attempted to contact her former better half last month but, per her best sarcastic legalese, “the Husband apparently vanished from the face of the Earth on May 30, 2008 as he was, allegedly, unable to be reached by his advisors.”
“In accordance with a court agreement the Bollea’s were to close on a condominium in Las Vegas May 30,” Linda’s attorney, A.J. Barranco, told News Wednesday. “Mrs. Bollea attended the closing and did as she had agreed in court. In just another strong-arm tactic Mr. Bollea, aka Hulk Hogan, did not show up and was unreachable.”
The bookers for Larry King Live, meanwhile, didn’t seem to have any problems getting in touch.
As a result, Linda Hogan is requesting that her estranged husband be held in the Pinellas County Jail until he makes good on the original order. Should that happen, the Hulkster may finally be able to have some nonleaked conversations with his son.
Nick Hogan is currently jailed at the same facility.
“The request for jail time is standard procedural language which must be put into all ’motions for contempt,’” Barranco said. “It gives the judge the right to impose jail time for someone ignoring the court’s ruling. She is not asking the court for anything other than to get the Hulk to close on the property.”
Hulk’s attorney, Ann Kerr, did not immediately return News’ request for comment.
Nick Hogan gets prison time
On August 26th, Hulk Hogan’s son Nick was terribly injured in a car crash in Florida. Also in the crash was Nick’s friend, John Graziano, who was critically injured after the car smashed into the median, flipped over and finally crashed into a palm tree. Later that fall, the wrestling champ’s son was charged with reckless driving, having a blood alcohol level of .02 or higher and having tinted windows on his Toyota Supra.
On May 9th, after pleading “no contest,” Nick Hogan (nee Bollea) was sentenced to eight months in prison. He was also charged with five years probation and one hundred hours community service per year. In addition, Nick must attend a DUI school and is forbidden to drink alcohol for the duration of his probation. Hulk and daughter Brooke begged the judge for leniency but John’s family and girlfriend asked for punishment. His mother said, “I’m not seeking revenge. Only justice.” John was in a coma after the accident and will probably need lifelong care.
What do you think? Does the punishment fit the crime?
Should Nick Hogan have been moved to a new jail cell?
The Hulkster’s son, in jail for a driving accident that put his friend in a coma, just got moved last Friday into a new jail cell. He was serving his eight-month prison sentence in solitary confinement after pleading no contest to the three charges: reckless driving, drunk driving, and having tinted windows on his Supra.
In a conversation with his mother, Linda Hogan, Nick (real last name Bollea) described the jail cell as half the size of his bathroom with no windows. According to Nancy Grace, the cell measures 12 X 16. Nick’s new digs include a cable television, unlimited phone use, a snack bar, and three other juvenille inmates. According to the Sherrif’s office, he was being held in solitary confinement becuase he is seventeen and therefore too young to be with the rest of the criminal population. His lawyers apparently filed a lawsuit against the sheriff’s office saying that the decision to keep their client in solitary confinement is a violation of his privacy.
What do you think? Should Nick have stayed in solitary confinement until July 27th, his eighteenth birthday?
