Eva Longoria’s Charity Work Pays Off

Eva Longoria’s Charity Work Pays Off

Eva Longoria was busy doing her charitable deed for the day, attending the PADRES Contra El Cancer benefit in Burbank on Saturday (March 1).

The Desperate Housewife, who happens to be the foundation’s spokeswoman, greeted a few of the kiddies in attendance while posing for the photographers on hand.

And to her tremendous satisfaction, AT&T said that it would donate $200,000 to help out the non-profit organization - which is “committed to improving the quality of life for Latino children who are battling cancer.”

According to press reports, “The donation is the result of AT&T’s second annual Answer Hope’s Call campaign, which consisted of a fundraising effort to increase awareness of childhood cancer and collect donations from customers at select retail stores in the Greater Los Angeles area.”

Eva Longoria Shows Some Heart

Eva Longoria Shows Some Heart

It may seem impossible, but Eva Longoria always looks her best!  Then again, given the constant hounding she receives from the paparazzi, it’s no wonder.

The “Desperate Housewives” hottie was spotted as she exited Café Med in West Hollywood following a casual lunch with some gal pals.

She looked stunning in a silky peach-colored strapless dress with a pair of pseudo-platform heels and an oversized turquoise-blue handbag.

But she was just getting her wardrobe warmed up… last night the “Over Her Dead Body” babe made an appearance at the “You’ve Gotta Have Heart” theatrical performances presented by Events of the Heart, a non-profit organization raising awareness about heart disease.

Eva definitely added some beauty to the Geffen Playhouse in Westwood, California with her amazing ensemble including a dark purple strapless gown paired with silvery-purple high heels.

Eminem’s Hip-Hop 4 Habitat

Eminem’s Hip-Hop 4 Habitat

Moving past his public battles with ex Kim Mathers, Eminem has added another credit to his already impressive resume of rapper, producer and actor. The hip-hop star and Detroit native now can add philanthropist to his lengthy list of accomplishments.

On Thursday (May 10), Em donated an undisclosed amount of cash on behalf of Eminem’s Marshall Mathers Foundation program to Hip-Hop 4 Habitat.

The Detroit News has reported this upbeat story about Hip-Hop 4 Habitat’s goal to raise $75,000 so they can proceed in building an 1,100 square-foot home in Detroit’s east side - helping to save one family at a time.

“Hip-Hop 4 Habitat is meant to be a positive project and a way for the Hip-Hop community to come together and support a family in need,” Alyce Hartman, founder of A Prophetic Generation, a non-profit organization told The Detroit News . “We’re so thankful Trick and Eminem are leading this effort.”

When the home is completed, volunteers will be treated to a concert by Detroit rapper Trick-Trick, who also is lending a hand in the construction of the home.
