USA gives series order to The Starter Wife
Good news for Debra Messing and all of the others involved in the miniseries The Starter Wife. After garnering some pretty decent ratings and several Emmy nominations, USA Networks has given a full series order to the comedy-drama based on the successful novel by Gigi Levangie Grazer.
Former Will & Grace star Messing will return as Molly Kagan, the former Hollywood wife who is now experiencing a second chance at life after her recent divorce. Also returning will be the executive production team of Grazer, Josann McGibbon and Sara Parriott. There is no information as to when filming will begin for the premiere season of The Starter Wife or when the first episode will air.
Wife was nominated for ten Emmy awards this year, including Outstanding Lead Actress in a Movie or Miniseries for Messing’s performance and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Movie or Miniseries for Judy Davis. Davis won for her performance.
Haas and Brandt Hired to Write Wanted Sequel

reader Editor E has passed along word that screenwriters Derek Haas and Michael Brandt have already been hired by Universal to pen a sequel to Wanted. Derek Haas revealed that
“We’re just finishing up a book adaptation for Universal of the James Siegel novel Deceit. We’ve been hired to write the sequel to Wanted by the same studio,” Derek Haas revealed to Pajiba. “And we’ve got a few more things in the hopper that it’s a little premature to talk about.”
I always assumed that Wanted was going to be in and out of movie theaters when it is released in June. The online response to the project has been minimal. But it seems like Universal believes they might have a franchise on their hands. Brandt and Haas, who also worked on the screenplay for the original film, are also credited with 3:10 to Yuma, Catch that Kid, and the upcoming big screen adaptations of Spy Hunter and The A-Team.

Clooney Trips Out Over Tourist
He just sent Sarah Larson packingnow it’s George Clooney’s turn to hit the road.
The Oscar winner has signed on to star in the contemporary spy thriller The Tourist, a big-screen adaptation of the best-selling Olen Steinhauer novel.
According to Variety, Clooney will also produce the Warner Bros. flick, in which he stars as a spy who is wrongly accused of murder and works to reveal the conspiracy working against him.
That’ll teach Matt Damon to leave old scripts lying around Clooney’s pad.
Hayden Christensen Talks Jumper 2

While on the promoting rounds for Jumper on DVD and Blue Ray Disc Hayden Christensen spoke to the Toronto Sun about whether he’d be up for a sequel.
“We’re talking about it,” the 27-year-old Canadian actor said. “I know that they’re having those conversations, I hear about them.” So would he sign on again? “Oh yeah, and I think I probably will.”
Liman originally planned a movie trilogy based on Steven Gould’s novel. Liman spun out a liberal re-imagining of Gould’s more personal story about child abuse, which had jumping as a metaphor for escape.
“It was set up to become that — a trilogy — if it did well,” Christensen added. “And I think they’re happy with how it did so they want to make another one. But I don’t think they’re rushing to get into production.”
Compared to Iron Man’s $537 million worldwide, Jumper only made $221.4 million, which is probably a reason why they are not rushing to get it out. However, it’s budget was $85 million so it did make a nice sum for FOX.
