Wesley Snipes Asks for Shore Leave
Before his world shrinks to an 8-by-10 cell, Wesley Snipes would like to cross a few oceans.
The embattled actor has filed a request in federal court for permission to leave the country, first to London to sit in on the editing process for his new horror flick Gallowwalker, and then to Bangkok to film the action thriller Chasing the Dragon. Cameras are set to roll Sept. 8 and production is expected to last eight weeks.
According to the filing, Snipes’ unavailability could jeopardize his “future livelihood as an actor,” not to mention his ability to pay restitution for his crimes.
Snipes skated on charges of conspiracy and fraud but was convicted in February on three misdemeanor counts of failing to file tax returns on about $13.5 million in earnings. He was sentenced in April to three years in prison, but a Florida judge begrudgingly agreed last month to bail that will keep the Blade star a free man until his appeal has played out.
“Mr. Snipes will, of course, voluntarily return after his work on this filmas he has done each time he has been granted permission by this court,” defense attorney Daniel Meachum wrote in Wednesday’s filing, which was obtained by the Orlando Sentinel.
His bold request shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone, really. Before he stood trial, a judge gave Snipes the go-ahead to travel to Namibia (not for the birth of Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, but to finish shooting Gallowwalker), South Korea and Vancouver.
George Clooney Premieres Leatherheads
George Clooney Premieres Leatherheads
It’s one of the most anticipated movies of the spring season, and last night “Leatherheads” had a star-studded premeired at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.
a George Clooney was in the house, hamming it up for the crowd. The film is of special significance to the “Oceans Thirteen” actor, as he both directed and starred in it.
Joining the 46-year-old stud was none other than his girlfriend, model Sarah Larson, who was looking quite ravishing in a low-cut black dress, complimenting Clooney’s dark suit.
Also in attendance was another of the film’s stars, Renee Zellweger. The “Bridget Jones” actress smiled pretty for the paps in a beautiful blue semi-see-through dress.
After the premiere, Clooney treated fans to his own brand of busting a move outside Dantanna’s restaurant in West Hollywood. This guy is always on!
Leatherheads opens April 4th nationwide.
21 Movie Trailer

I first read the book Bringing Down the House a couple years back, and knew instantly that Hollywood would make a movie about this real life tale of how six M.I.T. Students took Vegas for Millions. The feature film version is titled 21 and stars Across the Universe’s Jim Sturgess in the lead, Kevin Spacey as the teacher/leader, in addition to Kate Bosworth, Laurence Fishburne, and Aaron Yoo. Sure, director Robert Luketic (Legally Blonde, Win a Date with Tad Hamilton!, Monster-in-Law) doesn’t instill confidence, but it’s hard to mess up a heist film (although Oceans 12 accomplished that feat). The new movie trailer makes the movie look very fun. Check out he trailer.
You can watch the trailer in High Definition on Yahoo! Movies. 21 Hits theaters on March 28th 2008.

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz: Oceans Apart
Following an exciting trip to Washington DC to take part in the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner, Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz headed out of Dulles airport to go their separate ways.
The Pieces Of Me singer was spotted out on Monday in London, leaving Mr Chow after having dinner with a few friends.
Meanwhile, Pete jetted off from the nation’s capital back home to Los Angeles, California - where he partook in a solo shopping mission to the recently opened Bathing Ape (BAPE).
Always the trend setter, Wentz took to the streets of West Hollywood sporting a sleeveless hoodie, black shades, and some bizarre black boots - picking up a new pair of shoes to keep himself content until his bride-to-be returns to his arms.
