Instead of red, white and blue, Oprah Winfrey was seeing green, white and red this Fourth of July weekend.

The talk-show giant, along with her BFF Gayle King, was spotted indulging in a little Independence Day R&R in Portofino, Italy.

And who can blame Miss O? After undergoing a 21-day diet detox, we’d be tempted to indulge in all the finer things the country has to offer as well.

Of course, this all leads to the burning question that we know is on everybody’s mind.

Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday bash isn’t until Friday, but celebs are already flocking to London to fete the former South African president.

Will Smith (who’s emceeing Friday’s event) and Jada Pinkett Smith were just two boldfaced names in attendance at a prebirthday dinner party held in Hyde Park. Also on the list: Oprah Winfrey, Uma Thurman, Forest Whitaker, Kim Cattrall and Denzel Washington.

And yes, Naomi Campbell will be in the house on Friday.

Despite reports that the birthday boy had banned the supermodel from introducing some of the performers after her airport arrest, her rep says that was never the plan.

“To my knowledge, she has always just been a guest,” he told News.

One trainwreck who is allowed on stage at the soiree? Amy Winehouse. The troubled singer is slated to sing, as well as Leona Lewis, Queen and Annie Lennox.

It will be Amy’s first performance since her hospitalization last week.

Ever since she began her own talk show, something has set Tyra Banks apart from the rest of the pack.  And now she has a Daytime Emmy Award to prove it.

At yesterday’s 2008 Daytime Emmy Awards, held at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, the supermodel-turned-talk show host was on cloud nine, garnering the first ever Daytime Emmy for Informative Talk Show.

And she gave credit where credit was due, telling the audience, “I want to thank Oprah Winfrey for her inspiration.  She is the queen. She will always be the queen.” Banks also mentioned, “My mama is crying like a baby.”

Tyra’s model background definitely came out in her ensemble, consisting of a strapless beige floor-length gown with embroidered accents along with a blinging bracelet.

Not that it was all touchy-feely, reach-for-your-dreams pronouncements.

“Money is pretty nice,” she said. “I like money. It’s good for buying things.”
