Megan Fox Says She Will Transform In Transformers 2!
Forget Optimus Prime and the rest of the tin cans! It’s Megan Fox who will be stepping up and transforming in Transformers 2. The actress who recently said ‘I’d rather have sex all the time than leave the house.’ spoke to MTV about the sequel.
…returning cast members will now get a chance to go further with their characters than they did in the original. Shia LaBeouf will be in college (and taught by Rainn Wilson). But forget transforming robots or finals angst, Megan Fox smiled, the real transformation is yet to come.
“In this one I transform from a girl into a woman,” she laughed.
I don’t entirely know what that means but I guess we will find out.
Right, I’ll be honest here. That wasn’t the main Transformers news, I just wanted a reason to post a picture of Megan Fox. The real main news is that director Michael Bay has said that Transformers 2 will not just be a movie that leads onto Transformers 3. We have had sequels in the past such as Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Mans Chest, that are entertaining movies in there own right but they are just bridges for the inevitable third movie.
Because it’s friggin “lame,” “Transformers” director Michael Bay insisted to us at the MTV Movie Awards, telling MTV News that the second go-round with Optimus Prime would be entirely self-contained.
“You know how those sequels they do the second one so you go see the third one? [”Transformers 2”] is it,” he said, indicating that “2” would be its own story free from the duel shackles of set-up or resolution. “First one was just introducing, setting up stuff, so we can go a lot farther. Let’s just say [this] is not a lame sequel.”
“The robots are going to surprise a lot of people because we go with a lot of different levels,” he teased.
Geek Poser Almost Arrested at Airport for Transformers Shirt
A man (on right) says he was nearly arrested at London’s Heathrow Airport because he was wearing a T-shirt featuring Optimus Prime from the Transformers movie holding a robot gun. After airport security reportedly deemed the shirt too “offensive” and said he could not board the plane, he promptly changed into a festive party boat. What is hilarious is that the guy doesn’t even know the correct name of the Transformer on his shirt. Then again, the shirt is by French Connection. Cool points reduced to zero.
“Then [airport guard] explains that since Megatron is holding a gun, I’m not allowed to fly. It’s a 40ft tall cartoon robot with a gun as an arm. There is no way this shirt is offensive in any way, and what I’m going to use the shirt to pretend I have a gun?”
Heathrow–which owes me three months of my life back, read about it in my diary–says it’s investigating the man’s perturbed claim. In other news, Osama bin Laden snuck past security while all of this T-shirt drama was going on disguised as a Walkman belonging to a 14-year-old who thinks he’s cool as hell. 20 Robots in Transformers 2? Jail Break Planned?
Transformers 2 screenwriter Roberto Orci has made an interesting comment on Don Murphy’s message board:
“I’d love and think we could almost barely manage ten on each side, with some front and center and others as more supporting.”
Translation: There will be almost 20 Transforming Robots in disguise in the upcoming Michael Bay sequel!
Despite reassuring comments from Bay himself, fans have been worried that the sequel would be more human focused than the original. But I’m not quite sure packing the film with 20 Transformers is a step in the right direction. The biggest fan criticism of the first film was that not enough time was spent with the Transformers as personalities. And now with almost 20 of them on the big screen, alongside the bevy of human characters, who knows if the sequel will be any different. On the other hand, this could mean more big robot action sequences, which is always cool.

“My girlfriend works at Eastern State Penitentiary in the Fairmount area of Philadelphia. It was used as a prison from 1829 until 1971, and is now a historical site and museum. Anyway, at the prison today producers for Transformers 2 were on site with scale models of Megatron, Optimus Prime and Star Scream and were scouting filming locations in cell block 1 and the prison kitchen. Just thought I’d let people know that filming should begin here soon.”
So looks like we can expect a big giant robot jailbreak.
