For all the publicity Britney Spears has been giving Starbucks as of late, you’d think she was getting paid by the coffee giant. But when she started passing out straws to the paparazzi yesterday, it really looked like she was on the payroll.
The “Sometimes” singer was (again) spotted at the coffee chain yesterday in Malibu, getting her usual libation. And for no apparent reason, she began handing out green drinking straws to the herd of photogs around her.
In light of the recent custody circus, there are reports that the troubled singer/mommy is headed to the Grand Canyon in search of a “soul cleansing.” After hearing about Owen Wilson’s experience with the Shaman following his suicide attempt, Brit was keen to try it herself.
According to a source, “The head shaman has agreed to perform the ritual on Britney, which is a great honor. The shaman will wave sage over her head and daub her temples with a magical potion. And the learned Indians will chant mantra and perform a special dance around her.”

At the 2007 ACE Awards last night, Jessica Simpson was dressed to kill. And it sounds like Owen Wilson may have some competition, as she may be on the prowl for a new man from Bean Town.
In a recent interview, the ex-Newlywed press that she prefers men from Boston. “Boston has cute boys. I need a Boston man. A Boston man is closest to a Southern man.”
Since her divorce from Nick Lachey, the “With You” singer hasn’t had much luck in the romance department. But rather than let that get her down, Jess says she’s ready to spend more time on her singing career.
She told press, “I’m going to Nashville to start making an album, a new Jessica album. I really can’t wait to let people in on what I’ve experienced - the fun, the good, the bad, the happy, the sad. I’m comfortable with letting people in now. I’m in a really good place. It’ll be a very personal album.”

Kate Hudson was spotted out to eat late last night at the Waverly Inn, meeting her mother, Goldie Hawn. After that, it was off to the Beatrice Inn with some gal pals for a night of fun.
The Raising Helen actress is back in headlines for recent comments surrounding her ex boyfriend, Owen Wilson, and his suicide attempt.
According to FOX PopTarts’ Hollie McKay, “Wilson’s dramatic downturn coincided with the weekend release of photos showing his ex-girlfriend Kate Hudson getting mushy in Malibu with new man Dax Shepard, and according to an insider, the loss of love sent him spinning.”
The FOX source tells, “Kate and Owen definitely had a very special connection and they will always have that connection, but for a number of reasons the relationship just didn’t work out. Hollywood is a hard place, and the pressure of trying to keep things personal got to them.”
And, according the the Wilson - Hudson relationship insider, it was Owen who really took a blow when the relationship came to its end.
“Kate was able to move on but Owen just wasn’t; she’s an amazing woman and Owen really thought he was with ‘the one.’ Everybody keeps saying it was all drugs, but it wasn’t. Clearly Owen was fighting for love.”

Dressed for the chilly NYC fall weather, Jessica Simpson was spotted arriving at the airport early Wednesday morning (November 14). The Dukes of Hazzard actress has told that she’s looking to move to the Big Apple to be close to her record label.
Meanwhile, the 27-year-old Texan was recently all over the news for a series of dates with You, Me and Dupree actor Owen Wilson. But insiders say, it was all for publicity.
According to MSNBC, “a source close to the blond bombshell says that like her hookup with John Mayer, Simpson’s recent “dates” with Owen Wilson are meant to drum up good favor in the court of public opinion.”
“When Jess last had a new album coming out, that’s when she was introduced to John. She’s got her first country album coming out, so now she’s been conveniently introduced to Owen, who is a fellow Texan. Better yet, the public is sympathetic to him,” the insider told.
And now that Owen has moved on to another lady, model Le Call, it looks like the insider might just be right on the money. Or else, Owen decided that Jessica wasn’t for him.
