Sometimes a girl just needs time for herself. And yesterday, Nicole Richie left her boyfriend Joel Madden and daughter Harlow Winter behind for an afternoon with some gal pals.
The paparazzi caught up to the former Simple Life cutie enjoying a day of fun in the sun at a beach party in Malibu, California. She wore a short white cleavage-baring dress overtop a pair of denim shorts with a pair of sunglasses.
And it sounds like Britney Spears isn’t the only cameo queen in Hollywood. According to sources, when Nicole filmed her bit part on “Chuck” last week, she was a huge hit. And there’s even talk of her returning for another episode.
An insider revealed, “It was fantastic. She was friendly. Everybody loved her. She has a great fight scene.” Richie plays a high school nemesis of Yvonne Strahovski’s character Sarah.

He may be the last guy anyone thought would get married and have a kid… but Pete Wentz has settled into his role as a husband and daddy-to-be quite nicely.
The Fall Out Boy and his wife/almost-babymama Ashlee Simpson were spotted out in West Hollywood, California yesterday visiting friends while simultaneously looking like the portrait of wedded bliss.
Sporting yet another fabulous maternity dress (black with a red and beige tie-dye pattern around the bottom) along with a pair of black gladiator sandals, the “Little Miss Obsessive” songstress laughed as her hubby clowned around for the paparazzi by “getting wasted on water” before shooting off some fireworks.
Ashlee and Pete are set to become parents later this fall, with a string of rumors that they’ll be welcoming a baby boy into their family, though the sex of the baby hasn’t been confirmed yet.

If only every 15-year-old could have Miley Cyrus’ self-esteem.
“Coolest. Person. Ev-er!” she joked to People in a recent interview when asked how she would describe herself.
Then, upon reflection, she replied, “I think I’m chill. I am very hyper but I’m very carefree.”
Aside from her calm and collected side, Cyrus also reveals a few of her oh-so-teenage proclivities, such as her desire for a new car when she turns 16, her big crush on the coolest handbags and her beauty regimenmascara and a suntan.
Ah, to still be years away from voting age.
The star of the upcoming Hannah Montana Movie, which she’s been filming in Nashville this summer, also admits to eating ketchup right out of the bottle (now there’s something the paparazzi have missed) and preferring tomboy wear and Juicy Couture sweats when she doesn’t have to be all dolled up.
But although she might not be your typical girly-girl, it’s not as if she doesn’t make time to think about boys: Ask her who she prefers, McDreamy or McSteamy, and she’ll tell you that she’s a Dempsey girl all the way.
Of course, all this chit-chat is probably just leading up to a few more pressing topics, such as what Cyrus has learned in the wake of the Vanity Fair photo flap.
“A lot has happened,” she says. “There have been a lot of changes, but it’s all good. I’ve been really blessed.”
The teen says that she still has things to learn about “knowing which people I can trust and being more aware of my surroundings. It’s like DorothyI’m not in Kansas anymore.”
Meanwhile, the Disney Channel phenom has a new Hannah-free album, Breakout, ready to drop July 22, all just part of her plan to conquer the world by 18.
“Madonna always reinvents herself, and that’s what I want to do,” Cyrus says. “Whatever comes my way that sounds good, that’s what I want to do. Whether it’s designing clothes or photography or whatever.”

Wearing a white top with black workout pants, the “What Happens In Vegas” hottie quickly switched back to her normal cell phone routine upon exiting her car – briskly walking past paparazzi and inside for her sweat session.
Meanwhile, in related news, Cameron’s rep has nixed rumors that she’s engaged to model Paul Sculfor – which first started after Diaz was spotted sporting a ring that all-important finger.
Her publicist told E! News, “It is not an engagement ring. It is her own ring, designed by her friend, Lenore Marusak, for La Paix.”
