Lauren Conrad’s Time For Heroes

Lauren Conrad’s Time For Heroes

Heading out on a summery Sunday in Los Angeles, Lauren Conrad and her Hills co-star pals Whitney Port and Lauren “Lo” Bosworth were on hand for the A Time for Heroes Celebrity Carnival.

Held at the Wadsworth Theater, the A Time for Heroes Celebrity Carnival is sponsored by Disney and benefits the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.

In related news, as previously reported by , MTV is readying to launch a Hills spin-off in which Ms Port “becomes bicoastal while working for fashion PR firm People’s Revolution — and befriends a group of NYC gals (including socialite Olivia Palermo).”

Talking about the show, LC recently told Us magazine: “I think that Whitney will do really well with it. She is a very likable person.”

Giving tips to help make the show successful, Conrad adds: “I would just tell her to have fun with it. She’s always made it very clear on The Hills that she doesn’t want her personal life involved on the show, so it would definitely mean that she would have to come out of her comfort zone.”

Denise Richards: Celebrity Carnie

Denise Richards: Celebrity Carnie

She has a hot new reality show beaming over the airwaves, and her ex-husband Charlie Sheen recently remarried… Translation: Denise Richards has a lot going on!

The “Wild Things” beauty was spotted at the A Time For Heroes Celebrity Carnival to benefit the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation held yesterday at the Wadsworth Theater.

And she looked breathtaking in a belted white floor-length embroidered dress along with a pair of matching white flip flops.

Denise’s ex-hubby recently made some pretty harsh public comments about the “It’s Complicated” reality princess, marking the latest chapter in their widely-publicized feud.

He told press, “I think it’s no accident that whatserface chose this time to do what she did. It’s pretty obvious that Brooke and I, through our actions and union, are moving on with our lives. Perhaps somebody else should consider the same.”

“I’m tired of talking about her and all her shenanigans. It is what it is. I don’t even care anymore. I’m going to take a public stand to basically never utter her name publicly again, and I think if that’s known it will put an end to some of the drama.”

Mischa Barton’s Love For Literacy

Mischa Barton’s Love For Literacy

It’s always great to see celebrities giving back to the community, and at yesterday’s A Time For Heroes Celebrity Carnival, Mischa Barton showed off her love for literacy.

The former “OC” babe sported a Giambattista Vall dress and Christian Louboutin heels as she made her way through the charity event to benefit the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.

And when she got her wings (a pair of butterfly wings) and some face/body paint, she headed over to a reading center and read “Olive My Love” to a bunch of eager youngsters.

Unfortunately the day was marred a bit when Mischa failed to watch her step and landed one of her fabulous Louboutin heels in a pile of dog poop.  Not to worry, she played it off like a pro and carried on.

Dirt takes a dirt nap

Courtney CoxYou don’t usually get cancellation or pick-up announcements about TV shows at a charity fund-raising event. But that’s what happened yesterday at the “A Time for Heroes” Celebrity Carnival benefiting the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, or the “ATFH”CCBTEGPAF for short. When asked about the chances of her FX series getting picked up for a third season, Courteney Cox announced that Dirt has been canceled.

The show was never really embraced whole-heartedly, either critically or in the ratings, but it managed a second shot. Unfortunately for Cox and company, that second season was cut short by the WGA Strike, and as with many bubble shows, it just fell by the wayside. Maybe the tweaking they did to the format for Season Two, making it lighter and more accessible to the casual viewer turned off more of their hardcore fans than they anticipated. Maybe the ratings it was getting just weren’t enough for FX to pick back up production after the strike. Maybe David Arquette had a habit of showing up on the set in his BVDs and it finally just got to be too much for the cast and crew, so they walked. Or maybe Shane dropped a grenade in Lucy’s lap in that finale they just never got a chance to film.
