Donald Trump: No Love For Angelina Jolie
Donald Trump: No Love For Angelina Jolie
Right now, Angelina Jolie is in Los Angeles filming the period piece “The Changeling” with director Clint Eastwood. But back in New York City, Donald Trump is giving her the “Rosie O’Donnell” treatment.
The real estate mogul told press that the “Girl Interrupted” actress is “no great beauty” and he wonders what the big deal is about her.
The Donald said, “Angelina Jolie is sort of amazing because everyone thinks she’s like this great beauty. And I’m not saying she’s an unattractive woman, but she’s no beauty, not by any stretch of the imagination.”
He continued, “I really understand beauty. And I will tell you, she’s not - I do own Miss Universe. I do own Miss USA. I mean I own a lot of different things. I do understand beauty, and she’s not.”
It’s no surprise that Trump has something negative to say about Ang. In the past he’s lambasted her treatment of her father, Jon Voigt.
“I know her father. Her father is a nice guy. I think she treats him like a dog but maybe they have some kind of a thing. I mean this poor sap, he comes along and he practically begs her: ‘I want to see my grandson (Maddox). I want to see this.’ I mean, if I were with him, I’d say: ‘Forget it. It’s over.’ She just treats him terribly…. I’m not a fan of hers as you probably noticed.”
There’s no word of any rebuttal from the Brangelina camp.
Renee Zellweger Visits Letterman
Renee Zellweger Visits Letterman
The always sexy Renee Zellweger headed out in New York City to appear on the Late Show with David Letterman Show at the Ed Sullivan Theater on Thursday (April 3).
Wearing a candy apple red dress, the Bee Movie babe made the visit as part of her promotional duties for her new movie Leatherheads.
Co-starring George Clooney, Leatherheads is a romantic comedy set in the world of 1920s football, where the owner of a professional team drafts a strait-laced college sensation, only to watch his new coach fall for his fiancée.
Of choosing Renee for the role, Clooney told press: “She was the only person I ever thought of to do it. Three or four scenes were written in the original script that really sounded like her voice, and then you just had to think about Renée delivering them. She is so good at this kind of stuff. There are very few actors, not just actresses, but actors that don’t feel contemporary. If you took them and put them in a period piece it feels like it’s 2008 in the middle of a period piece. And she doesn’t. She’s really good at being able to do that.”
Chloe Sevigny and Zooey Deschanel to Star in Divorce Ranch. World’s Hipsters Melt.

One’s a hot friggin’ perfume and clothing line, the other is sold out next weekend (twice!) at Hiro Ballroom (I will sneak in), together they make hipsters sweat enough to fill up an Olympic-sized (non-Chinese) pool. That’s right, Chloe Sevigny (Kids, Vincent Gallo’s thing) and Zooey Deschanel (Weeds, nice dreams) are tag-teaming in a new indie called Divorce Ranch. It will be a period piece of sorts, set after the second world war (wassup with that third one btw? bring it on), with Sevigny playing an actress with a bebe and Deschanel playing a lowly assistant.
The delightfully-named Michael Lindsay-Hogg, who’s helmed some flicks for the Rolling Stones and Paul Simon, has the pleasure of directing the film, which is set in Nevada. I know this news is late, but I was busy discovering and falling in love with Pyramid’s Apricot Weizen beers. I highly recommend this beer. It’s worth a drunk drive to the supermarket, even. As for Divorce Ranch, I can’t wait. These two vixes together are like watching the two girlfriends who cheated on you the most, and most stylishly, chit-chat for two hours about cute boys and $200 slippers. No regrets.

Ellen Page’s Tokyo Promotions
Ellen Page’s Tokyo Promotions
Promoting the Japanese release of her hit movie Juno, Ellen Page was on hand at a press conference in Tokyo on Wednesday (May 7).
Held at the Imperial Hotel, the 21-year-old Canadian actress politely smiled and and answered the reporter’s questions through an interpreter before being led off be her carriers.
And now that Juno is nearly completely behind her, Page has opted to join her first period piece - signing on to portray iconic character Jane Eyre.
Based on the Charlotte Bronte novel from 1847, the movie will “tell the love story of the governess and her master, Edward Rochester. It’s among the most-filmed English novels of all time, with well over a dozen productions reaching the big and small screens, including BBC-produced miniseries in 1973 and 2006. Among the actresses to play the title character over the years are Joan Fontaine, Susannah York and Charlotte Gainsbourg.”
