Dad Details Billable Hours Spent With Britney
Britney Spears’ father has gotten technical.
Following up on his petition to collect “replacement compensation” for the month of February for being the coconservator of his daughter’s estate, Jamie Spears stated in a declaration filed June 6 that, starting Feb. 1, when he was first given control over Britney’s affairs following her second hospitalization this year, he was with her “on a near-twenty-four-hour basis to ensure her safety and well-being.”
A court commissioner did not allocate $2,500 a week for the elder Spearsplus funds to lease a caruntil March 3.
“After Britney was released from the hospital, I brought Britney home and secured her living and care situation,” Spears said.
“Throughout the time period, I ran errands, including buying groceries and cooking supper on a daily basis. I talked frequently with Britney about her health status…I arranged for Britney’s transport and security to go shopping and so that she could teach a dance class.”
The Spears family’s current arrangement is in effect until at least July 31, when the conservatorship issue is due to be revisited in court.
Jamie Spears also included time spent with the kidsgrandsons Jayden James and Sean Preston and ex-son-in-law Kevin Federlineas well as meetings with Britney’s lawyers and doctors, in his list of billable accomplishments over the month of February.
“I visited with Britney’s children and their father, Mr. Federline,” he stated. “I met and consulted attorneys. I also continued to consult with and meet Britney’s doctors and care providers.”
In his original petition to collect what more or less amounts to back pay, Spears’ attorney wrote that his client, who had been working as a caterer, had “been forced to forego [sic] other employment in order to devote his full time and attention to Britney and her affairs” and had “lost his regular source of income from which to pay his living expenses.”
Britney Spears Keeps on Workin’ It
Britney Spears Keeps on Workin’ It
With a big video shoot in London, England coming up next week (for her new single Radar), Britney Spears is all about getting in tip top shape.
To that end, the “Piece of Me” songstress was spotted at her local Bally’s Total Fitness last evening looking toned and smiling big for the paparazzi.
With a healthy tan glow to her complexion, Brit looked cute in a pink screenprinted tank top, powder blue terrycloth pants and a pair of white sneakers.
In legal news, it seems Miss Spears’ latest appeal to overturn a court decision to place her conservatorship in her father’s care has been denied.
According to the official document, the appeal was not filed with the correct procedures, hence the dismissal of the petition.
Lisa Simpson’s Voice Files for Divorce
Despite having all the answers on The Simpsons, Yeardley Smith could only come up with one solution this time around.
The character actress and vocal talent behind the animated Lisa Simpson for the past two decades has filed for divorce from her husband of six years, Daniel Erickson.
Per the petition filed Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Smith cited the most-checked box everirreconcilable differencesas the reason for the split. Their date of separation is “under determination.”
The duo have no children. Smith has requested she not be ordered to pay spousal support and is looking to have her legal name changed back to Yeardley Smith, because she has apparently been toting the “Erickson” around since tying the knot in 2002.
Dylan McDermott Files for Divorce
Dylan McDermott is looking to make a permanent break.
Nearly eight months after the duo announced they had separated, the actor filed for divorce from wife Shiva Rose Friday, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.
According to the petition obtained by News, the actual date of separation is listed as March 5, 2007.
Interestingly, McDermott, who spent seven years playing lawyer Bobby Donnell on The Practice, is tackling this case “in propria persona.” In other words, he’s acting as his own attorney.
He and Rose tied the knot on Nov. 19, 1995. They have two daughters, 12-year-old Collette Blu and 2-year-old Charlotte Rose. McDermott is seeking joint custody.
