Lindsay Lohan’s Birthday Party: An Inside Look

Lindsay Lohan’s Birthday Party: An Inside Look

Usually the 22nd birthday is a let-down, being that it’s the follow-up to the big 2-1.  But Lindsay Lohan’s second year of being legal ended with a fabulous bash on Wednesday night.

The crimson-haired hottie threw a massive party at Hollywood, California hotspot Teddy’s (inside the Roosevelt Hotel) and celebrated her 22nd year of life along with 100 of her closest friends, including girlfriend Samantha Ronson and mother Dina Lohan.

Rocking a Pepto-Bismol pink gown, LiLo was in perfect sync with the evening’s retro-80s prom theme.  Her table was filled with cupcakes, as well as a massive Marilyn Monroe birthday cake.

And it was a dry night for the “Mean Girls” actress.  She sipped Red Bulls all night while the rest of her guests were treated to Belvedere Vodka cocktails.

It’s a great week for charity benefits in New York City.  On Monday night the Food Bank of NYC had a big shindig, and last night the Breast Cancer Research Foundation held its own party, with stars like Gwyneth Paltrow and Elizabeth Hurley showing support.

The historic Waldorf Astoria Grand Ballroom was the place to be last night for celebrities and charity.  The “Shallow Hal” actress looked gorgeous, as usual, in a sleeveless pink gown with a black sash and handbag.

British babe Elizabeth Hurley also showed up to lend a helping hand, along with her husband Arun Nayar.  And they weren’t the only ones joining in from Mother England.

Sir Elton John performed at the event in honor of his friend Linda Stein, who was a member of the foundation’s advisory board.  Stein was slain in her apartment back in October.

Costume Institute Gala: Hollywood Style At Its Best

Costume Institute Gala: Hollywood Style At Its Best

The New York Metropolitan Museum of Art was the place to be and be seen on Monday night (May 7). The Met played host to this year’s Costume Institute Gala in honor of Paul Poiret.

Poiret was a renowned pre-World War II fashion designer, who was the first to use draping in dressmaking and is credited with launching the suspender belt, flesh-colored stockings, the sack dress and culottes.

Celebrities flocked to the event in droves, with most of the ladies opting to don Poiret-inspired ensembles that included tiered dresses, feathered headbands and cocoon jackets.

According to AHN reports, “Vogue magazine editor-in-chief Anna Wintour hosted the evening along with Nicolas Ghesquire of Balenciaga and actress Cate Blanchett. The three stood on the red carpet and greeted guests such as Kate Moss, who wore a backless black fishtail gown from her TopShop collection, Kirsten Dunst, who was in vintage midnight blue Yves Saint Laurent and Cameron Diaz, who showed up in a strapless hot pink gown by Dior by John Galliano.”

To sum up the evening, model Shalom Harlow told Style magazine, “It’s a fashion celebration, that’s for sure. It’s a decadent industry and this is a decadent night.”
