Get your very own Cosby sweater
I love Cosby sweaters–those loud, patterned fashion monstrosities that look good on no one. Bill Cosby is auctioning off three sweaters from his days as Heathcliff Huxtable on The Cosby Show. Proceeds from the eBay auction will benefit Hello Friend/The Ennis William Cosby Foundation, which supports education. Cosby started the foundation in 1997 to honor his son’s memory.
The auction will run from June 2 to June 18, with opening bids starting at $5,000 per hideous sweater. It’s all for a good cause, though. Hello Friend donates books to underfunded schools and helps train teachers, among other things. Ennis Cosby was studying to be a teacher at the time of his death, and his family wanted to continue his work.
I wonder how high the bids will go? Will the highest bidders be interested in the sweaters themselves, or will they buy them out of support for the foundation? I’m very curious to see how this auction turns out, and I’ll be keeping an eye on it this June. I’ve seen the sweaters in question, and they are trademark Cosby sweaters–polka dots, squiggly lines, geometric shapes, etc. What’s not to love?

When it comes to punk rock chicks, you can’t get much better than Avril Lavigne. And at last night’s Juno Awards (the Canadian equivalent of the Grammys) she rocked the mic and the red carpet.
The “Sk8er Boi” singer made quite an arrival, hamming it up for the cameras in a black dress with white polka dots, coordinated shoes, and her very own streamer stick. And of course, she was sporting her huge wedding rock.
Once inside, Lavigne ripped through a live rendition of her hit “Girlfriend” to the delight of the audience. Her onstage wardrobe consisted of a black hoodie with black zipper-laden pants.
And despite her five Juno nominations last night, Avril walked away empty-handed, shut out of all of her categories. Better luck next time!

Yesterday was a big day for Amy Winehouse. She visited her incarcerated hubby Blake Fielder-Civil to show off her new lighter-hued hairdo.
The “Rehab” singer showed up at the London prison wearing a very revealing top and some scarves in her hair. And she wasn’t shy about her distaste for the paparazzi, giving them dirty looks galore.
And while we’re still waiting to hear what Blake thought of Amy’s new look, one fashion critic has released his opinion of the troubled singer’s fashion sense. Famed fashion designer Blackwell has just released his “worst-dressed stars of the year” list. And Amy is #2.
In his explanation, Blackwell described Winehouse as, “exploding beehives above, tacky polka-dots below, she’s part 50’s carhop horror.” Hey, at least she wasn’t #1… that was Posh Spice’s honor!

Not one to rest on her laurels, Roberts has her sights set on a killer new indie flick titled “Lymelife” starring Alec Baldwin, Cynthia Nixon, Rory Culkin, Kieran Culkin, Jill Hennessy, and Timothy Hutton.
