Venture Brothers 3.x cast photo made public

The Venture BrothersJackson Publick (a pseudonym for Christopher McCulloch) has released the cast photo for The Venture Brothers Season 3 on his LiveJournal blog. You have to scroll down a little to see it. It has many old characters in it along with many new ones.

A few characters, such as J.J. Venture and Jonas Venture, Sr., appear twice. I don’t know what that means, but it does come across as foreshadowing. Clones, perhaps? The Venture Brothers has a history with cloning.

Most suspicious is the absence of Dean Venture from picture, one-half of the two Venture Brothers for whom the series is named. Another case of foreshadowing, or just an error on the part of the creator? I wonder.

(Update: On Publick’s blog, he mentions in a comment that Dean wasn’t included because there were no real character design changes for him. So much for my conspiracy theory.)

On the same page are a few screen shots from the coming season. I just caught up on season 2 a week or so ago, so I’m really looking forward to season 3.

Kevin Smith Finishes Red State Screenplay

Kevin Smith

Kevin Smith has finished the first draft for his upcoming horror film, Red State. Not only is it done, but it’s the shortest script Smith has ever written, and contains the least amount of dialogue.

“Not to say there’s no dialogue; just that there’s about half as much as I normally write,” Smith revealed on his website viewaskew.com. “Unlike any other script I’ve ever authored, to say the least. Very fucked up. If I’d never said anything about it in the press and put it out under a pseudonym, I doubt anyone would ever connect me with it. Can’t wait to shoot it.”

I have a hard time classifying it as a “horror flick” because, while it shares some of the genre conventions, it’s just not what most would consider a horror flick. Horrific, yes, but not a horror flick in terms of the general definition. Let’s put it this way: if “Rosemary’s Baby” can be classified as a horror flick, then “Red State” can be as well.

Smith has yet to reveal any plot details or confirm any casting (heck, he just finished the script - did we really expect casting news this early in?) but NewsAskew reports that Clerks alumni Jeff Anderson and Jay Mewes are rumored to be on board. I’m pretty sure Smith dropped mention of Mewes casting in a Smodcast from a while back.

September - Because I Love You Video and Lyrics

Because I Love” is the new single from September, it will be released in 2008.
September is a pseudonym for Petra Marklund, a Swedish pop and dance singer, born September 12, 1984.

September - Because I Love You Lyrics

You say that you love me
We both know you don’t mean it every day
But somehow you got me
So I’ll put up with anything you say

Because I love you 2x

I’d rather be with you whenever
Than without you all the time
And I will forgive you whatever
Just to say that you are mine

Because I love you 4x

I love you, do you love me
When tomorrow comes I guess we’ll see
When I push in, you pull out
But you still need me

Yes, I do,
Yes, I do,
Yes, I do,
Yes, I do now…

Because I love you…

Pete Wentz Reconsiders Hotel Alias

Pete Wentz Reconsiders Hotel Alias

In the celebrity world, many times stars will check into hotels under false names.  But Fall Out Boy hottie Pete Wentz says that he’s going to start using a new alias, for fear of his life.

Wentz confessed that he loved using rapper Lil’ Wayne’s nickname, Weezy F. Baby, as a pseudonym when he stayed in hotels.  But that’s all changed due to his fear that someone may try to shoot Lil’ Wayne and get Wentz by mistake.

Wentz told press, “Last night I got home from the bar, and there was this whole Little League team waiting outside my (hotel) room.  I don’t know how they find me. Right now, I’m staying under the name Nick Papagiorgio from National Lampoon’s Vegas Vacation.  I used to stay under Weezy F. Baby, Lil’ Wayne’s nickname, but then I thought, ‘What if somebody shows up and wants to shoot this dude?’”

For now, it’s safe to assume that Pete will be coming up with a new alias to avoid little leaguers and gangster assassins.  You’ll have to put your thinking cap on if you wanna find this Fall Out Boy and his girlfriend Ashlee Simpson.
