It’s a Girl for Nicole & Keith! Their Sunday Rose Blooms on Monday
Nicole Kidman beat Angelina Jolie to the finish line.
The Aussie Oscar winner and her Grammy-winning husband, Keith Urban, welcomed their first child, a baby girl, this morning in Nashville.
The Monday-born Sunday Rose Kidman Urban checked in at 6 pounds, 7½ ounces, according to a statement from their publicist.
“Keith was by Nicole’s side, and mother and baby are very well,” the rep added.
On his website, Urban gave a shout-out to his family and fans.
“Earlier this morning, Nic gave birth to our beautiful baby girl,” he wrote. “We want to thank everybody that has kept us in their thoughts and prayers. We feel very blessed and grateful that we can share this joy with all of you today. More to follow…”
Presumably the “more to follow” will include why they picked the moniker for their newborn.
Kidman, 41, has two other children from her union with Tom Cruise, Isabella, 15, and Connor, 13. She and Urban, 40, married June 25, 2006.
They announced their pregnancy in January.
Just this weekend, Urban noted that his missus was due to burst at any minute. At a Nashville concert Saturday, with Kidman waiting in the wings, Urban dedicated his song “Better Half” to his “very, very, very, very, very pregnant wife.”
Madonna Denies Divorce, Puts A-Rod in a Trance?
Deny, deny, deny!
Never one to shy away from controversy, Madonna issued the mother of all denials on Sunday, quashing rumors of an affair with Yankee third baseman Alex Rodriguez, refuting claims that she converted him to Kabbalah and denying plans to divorce her husband of seven years, Guy Ritchie.
“My husband and I are not planning on getting a divorce. I know Alex Rodriguez through Guy Oseary, who manages both of us. I brought my kids to a Yankee game. I am not romantically involved in any way with Alex Rodriguez. I have nothing to do with the state of his marriage or what spiritual path he may choose to study,” Madonna said in a statement to People.
Earlier in the week, her publicist also denied talks of a split.
On Saturday, the 49-year-old musician, her husband and their three children Lourdes, 11, Rocco, 7, and David, 2were seen attending prayer services at the Kabbalah Centre in New York City.
Meanwhile, the baseball star’s former trainer and friend told the New York Post on Sunday that A-Rod is “totally brainwashed” by Kabbalah, which the trainer says contributed to the demise of Rodriguez’s five-year marriage to wife Cynthia.
“Alex, God bless him, is lost,” says Dodd Romero, who is godfather to Rodriguez’s two daughters. “I think he got pulled in by the dark side, if you can say that nicely. He’s totally brainwashed.”
He also said the baseball star only listens to Madonna music in the car and goes “into a trance” when her music videos play at the gym.
Dodd spent time with Cynthia in Paris last week, where she reportedly fled after news of the split broke. Dodd says cutting ties with A-Rod shortly after Cynthia gave birth to their second daughter in late April was “one of the hardest things I’ve had to do, because he’s like a brother to me.”
Jennifer Aniston Rides the John Mayer Express
Jennifer Aniston has resorted to taking the bus these days, and it has nothing to do with the summer’s sky-high gas prices.
E! News has learned that actress is not just attending boyfriend John Mayer’s concerts. She’s gone groupie, joining him on his tour bus.
Mayer kicked off the U.S. leg of his summer road show Wednesday night, with Aniston by his side backstage. The couple arrived together at the 2008 Milwaukee Summerfest at the Marcus Amphitheater on his rig.
“They were on John’s tour bus hanging out most of the time before the show,” Kristi Chuckel, publicist for Summerfest, tells News.
Mayer went on at 9 p.m. and played for about two hours. All the while, his No. 1 band aide was watching from the side.
“She was backstage standing in the wings, hanging out and watching the show,” says Chuckel.
And it looks like she was enjoying herself.
Karra Barnes, a Mayer fan who also saw Aniston backstage, tells News, “She seemed pretty into it. She supports him greatly, you can tell.
“John Mayer also seems to be playing with a lot more passion. I saw him last year at Summerfest, and he was very passionate then, but now something seems a little different about him.”
Perhaps it has something to do with his ride share?
Mayer, presumably with his Friend in tow, plays tonight at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Maryland Heights, Mo.

Wearing a white top with black workout pants, the “What Happens In Vegas” hottie quickly switched back to her normal cell phone routine upon exiting her car – briskly walking past paparazzi and inside for her sweat session.
Meanwhile, in related news, Cameron’s rep has nixed rumors that she’s engaged to model Paul Sculfor – which first started after Diaz was spotted sporting a ring that all-important finger.
Her publicist told E! News, “It is not an engagement ring. It is her own ring, designed by her friend, Lenore Marusak, for La Paix.”
