Taylor Dayne Cops a Plea in DUI Case
Taylor Dayne can tell it to her probation officer now.
The Can’t Fight Fate singer pleaded no contest Monday to one count of reckless driving in connection with her recent bust on suspicion of DUI.
Calling it the “appropriate disposition of this particular case,” a judge sentenced Dayne to two years’ summary probation and ordered her to complete a Mothers Against Drunk Driving program, according to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office.
Dayne was arrested March 6 in Beverly Hills after police observed her driving erratically and pulled her over, per the official report.
Nick Hogan gets prison time
On August 26th, Hulk Hogan’s son Nick was terribly injured in a car crash in Florida. Also in the crash was Nick’s friend, John Graziano, who was critically injured after the car smashed into the median, flipped over and finally crashed into a palm tree. Later that fall, the wrestling champ’s son was charged with reckless driving, having a blood alcohol level of .02 or higher and having tinted windows on his Toyota Supra.
On May 9th, after pleading “no contest,” Nick Hogan (nee Bollea) was sentenced to eight months in prison. He was also charged with five years probation and one hundred hours community service per year. In addition, Nick must attend a DUI school and is forbidden to drink alcohol for the duration of his probation. Hulk and daughter Brooke begged the judge for leniency but John’s family and girlfriend asked for punishment. His mother said, “I’m not seeking revenge. Only justice.” John was in a coma after the accident and will probably need lifelong care.
What do you think? Does the punishment fit the crime?
Britney Spears: Queen of the Internet
Britney Spears: Queen of the Internet
While she definitely may not consider it her best year personally, Britney Spears kept things interesting enough to pull in the top spot as far as Internet search terms go in 2007.
Combining a shaved head, a rehab stint and a child custody battle, among numerous other incidences, the troubled pop tart was recently named the most popular Yahoo search term this year.
According to a recent press release, ” Paris Hilton, in turn, came in third on the list, thanks in large part to her 45-day jail sentence in a reckless driving case. Last year, she was the number five most-searched term.”
The report continues, “For the second year in a row, World Wrestling Entertainment placed second on the list, with an enormous amount of interest generated by Chris Benoit, the wrestler who killed his wife and son before committing suicide in June.”
Meanwhile, “Naruto, a Japanese manga cartoon, was the fourth most popular term, edging out Beyoncé, who came in fifth.”
Ashley Olsen: A Terror Behind the Wheel?
Ashley Olsen: A Terror Behind the Wheel?
While it’s typical for Ashley Olsen to cover her face as she walks past nearby photogs, the billionaire twin may have taken her penchant for eluding the cameras a bit too far last evening (December 21).
According to paparazzi on the scene, Olsen spent about four hours getting her hair bleached and coiffed at Neil George hair salon in Beverly Hills.
From there, a source tells: “When she was finished, she was in such a rush to get out of there, she jumped into her car, covered her face, gunned the engine, and - because she had no visibility - almost ran straight into a photographer!”
The insider adds, “Had a police officer been present, I’m certain he or she would’ve cited Ashley for reckless driving. She was a total, angry nut behind the wheel. She has no business driving so erratically, no matter how much of a rush she’s in.”
