Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez Hit Toronto

Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez Hit Toronto

Rising Disney stars/BFFs Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez have made the trip up north to Toronto, Ontario, as the duo arrived arm-in-arm to their hotel on Thursday afternoon (July 3).

With her Wizards of Waverly Place pal there for support, Miss Lovato is readying for her opening act duties for the Jonas Brothers - with the tour kicking off at the Molson Amphitheatre later tonight.

The North America tour then heads to the States, beginning with a show in Clarkston, Michigan on Saturday night - finally wrapping up on September 5 with a show in West Palm Beach.

As for Lovato, the blooming singer recently told press that “most of the music she’s interested in is too dark to make it on a Disney album” - so, as the story goes, she “turned to the Jonas Brothers to lighten her act up.”

Truth: Impossible - Chef Robert Irvine caught in a web of lies

Robert IrvineYou’d think by now that people would know better. Embellishing a resume, adding credits that are the work of a vivid imagination rather than hard work… they’re bound to be unearthed someday. Especially if you’re a success. The latest prevaricator caught in a series of lies is Food Network’s British chef Robert Irvine. In a scathing expose by the St. Petersburg Times, the star of Dinner: Impossible, has been caught with egg on his face. Make that more like egg salad. Multiple claims by Irvine, including creating Princess Diana’s wedding cake, cooking for White House dinners, being knighted by the queen, and more, have turned out to be tall tales.

Eww! That smarts. This isn’t the first time Food Network has been stung by the truth. Last year, during the penultimate episode of The Food Network Star 3, one of the finalists, Josh “JAG” Garcia, was disqualified when it was learned he lied about his military service as well as his cooking expertise. Speaking for Food Network, a press rep said, “We are investigating the matter and taking the necessary steps to ensure the accuracy of all representations of Robert on Food Network and foodnetwork.com.”

It’ll take some clever cooking for Chef Robert to overcome this challenge to his image. His show, which sets up each challenge the chef must complete on the episode while the clock is ticking in the mode of Mission: Impossible, is in its second season on the network and is a hit. More than that, the chef has been prominently featured on a variety of other Food Network programs and is considered one of their rising stars.

Zac Efron and Nikki Blonsky’s Working Friendship

Zac Efron and Nikki Blonsky’s Working Friendship

What was the secret to the worldwide success achieved by the hit movie Hairspray? According to two of the movie’s rising stars, Zac Efron and Nikki Blonsky, it was all about friendship.

The duo, who’ve been busy traveling from Australia to Spain and Rome for press duties, told press that they believe their on-screen chemistry in Hairspray worked out so well because they became such good friends in real life.

During an interview to promote the film in Australia earlier this week, Zac said: “There’s no one better to work with. We honestly became best friends.”

The Disney charmer continued on, “It’s cool that there’s all these great older actors, but it’s not like were gonna go, ‘Let’s go hang out with Chris Walken, let’s go to the mall. You don’t do that. Also, her family was so nice to me, they were like my other parents.”

And Zac’s sentiments were seconded by Nikki, who told, “(We’re) just one big happy Hairspray family.”
