Kevin McKidd Joining Grey’s Anatomy?
Like many people, I was miffed that Journeyman wasn’t picked up for another season. But maybe we’ll get our fix of Kevin McKidd at Seattle Grace next year.
Entertainment Weekly is reporting that the Scottish actor, who blew (some of) us away as the time-traveling journalist Dan Vasser on Journeyman, is in talks to join the cast of Grey’s Anatomy. The rumor is that McKidd would play a doctor who scrubs in at the hospital after a stint in Iraq.
McKidd played soldier Lucius Vorenus in HBO’s short-lived Rome. You can also catch him in the upcoming films, Bunraku and Dylan, in which he plays Wales poet Dylan Thomas.
Signing on for Grey’s would accomplish a few things in my mind. It would give McKidd’s fans a chance to see him every week. It would give Grey’s Anatomy a much-needed shot in the arm of fresh talent. And it would give the show a ripped-from-the-headlines feel by injecting some world events into the mix. What do you think?

James McAvoy and Anne-Marie Duff’s NYC Stroll
Out in NYC following Thursday’s Los Angeles premiere of his new movie “Wanted”, James McAvoy and wife Anne-Marie Duff were spotted enjoying a romantic walk around Soho on Saturday (June 21).
Strolling around hand-in-hand, the 29-year-old Scottish actor and his actress wife of two years are currently away from their London home as James takes on the promotional duties for “Wanted” while co-star Angelina Jolie readies for the birth of her baby twins.
In related news, during his visit to the States, McAvoy was asked whether he pays much attention to the movie business and the tabloid buzz.
“I don’t spend a lot of time in L.A. I don’t hang out ‘in the industry’ in London. I don’t read all the newspapers and watch E! Entertainment every day,” James tells.
Nonetheless, McAvoy’s approach seems to be working in his favor, as he goes on to tell: “I do notice that I’m finding it easier to do projects that I like, and that’s a very welcome state of affairs. It’s all been a lovely kind of explosion. And I just hope it continues.”
Early Valentine’s Day for Jennifer Love Hewitt
Early Valentine’s Day for Jennifer Love Hewitt
One week from today, millions of couples will celebrate Valentine’s Day with roses, chocolates, and going out to dinner. But Ross McCall decided to surprise his fiancé Jennifer Love Hewitt a week early.
Last night, the betrothed couple were spotted out and about looking lovey dovey as usual. And it looks like Ross said “super size it” when he got to the counter at the teddy bear store.
The “Party of Five” actress couldn’t have looked more tickled as she hugged her big white furry Valentine’s Day bear, and you can bet the Scottish actor scored some big points for being so prompt.
Though the year has only just begun, it looks like Jennifer is going to have a big 2008. Along with her hit show “The Ghost Whisperer,” Love has several voiceover gigs, along with a new film called “She Had Brains, a Body, and the Ability to Make Men Love Her.”
Jennifer Love Hewitt Hits the Beach

Jennifer Love Hewitt escaped for some fun in the sun yesterday afternoon, playing around in the water with her beau, Ross McCall.
Hewitt, who sported a black bikini, has been dating the Scottish actor since January 2006. Besides enjoying the beach with her man, the “Ghost Whisperer” actress has recently signed up to help out the Humane Society.
Joining Patricia Arquette and Nathan Lane, Jennifer is helping the puppy-loving non-profit crack down on pooches bought from pet stores this Christmas.
According to press reports, “The celebrities are urging wannabe dog owners to seek pets from renowned shelters and homes, rather than buy into the puppy mill controversy, where some dogs are bred in terrible conditions.”
To help the cause, Jennifer will be appearing in a print ad on behalf of the Humane Society’s Puppy Mill Action Week, which started this past Sunday (November 25).
