Rihanna: Out in NYC
Rihanna: Out in NYC
Following an amazing showing at the 2008 MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto, Canada (where she won two awards and performed her new hit Take a Bow) Rihanna was spotted in New York City celebrating.
The “Umbrella” songstress looked very happy-go-lucky as she grabbed a celebratory dinner with some of her close friends at Da Silvano restaurant in Manhattan.
And she looked cute and colorful in a sexy green tank top and a floral print miniskirt with plenty of chunky jewelry and a pair of brown leather strappy sandals.
Now that she’s conquered the pop music world, it seems Rihanna is interested in expanding her horizons into the world of acting. According to press she’s prepping up for her big screen debut in “Mama Black Widow,” an adaptation of the 1969 novel by Robert Beck.
Anne Hathaway: ShowWest’s Female Star of the Year
Anne Hathaway: ShowWest’s Female Star of the Year
With all the celebrity sightings as of late, the Waverly Inn is quickly becoming the Katsuya of New York City. Along with Hilary Duff, Anne Hathaway was spotted there last night sans fiancé.
The “Princess Diaries” starlet looked positively cute in a red skirt overtop some grey stockings, with a grey sweater, and knee high black leather boots as she braved the cold weather.
Hathaway is one of the scheduled presenters at this upcoming weekend’s Jon Stewart-hosted Oscar Awards.
And she’ll be receiving the Female Star of the Year at the ShoWest gala coming up on March 13th. ShoWest’s managing director Mitch Neuhauser gushed about his admiration for the actress.
“Since making her big-screen debut, (Hathaway) has gone on to engage audiences of all ages with a broad range of roles, which is quite a testament to this extremely talented young actress. From her roles as a naive young assistant in ‘The Devil Wears Prada,’ a feisty cowgirl in ‘Brokeback Mountain,’ a Jane Austen heroine in ‘Becoming Jane’ and a reluctant princess in ‘The Princess Diaries’ and ‘The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement,’ Hathaway has proven to audiences that she can carry any role that comes her way.”
Miley Gets Some Action in Nashville
In case Miley Cyrus has been missing her Disneyfied alter ego while recording her first all-Miley album, she’s in luck.
Production has kicked off on Hannah Montana: The Movie, which will be filming in and around Nashville, the Walt Disney Co. announced Thursday.
Cyrus had previously told News she would be forgoing the average 15-year-old’s summer pursuitsboys, mall, beach, boysin favor of completing her feature-length film. (She probably won’t be giving up iced mochas anytime soon, though.)
The movie, which is slated for release in spring 2009, also features Hannah Montana regulars Emily Osment, Jason Earles, Mitchel Musso, Moises Arias and, of course, ubiquitous papa Billy Ray Cyrus.
While it will be her scripted big-screen debut, Cyrus already has a decent, albeit short, track record.
This year’s 3-D release Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour took in $65.3 million at the box officeand would have made more if theaters had charged movigegoers by the word.
