Continuing her sunny vacation, away from the northern winter blahs, Avril Lavigne was spotted taking a dip in the pool at her resort in Miami, Florida yesterday.
The “Girlfriend” singer was looking cute in a sky blue two-piece bathing suit, along with some rock star shades, as she sipped a drink.
And it sounds like Avril’s thinking about joining the ranks of Celine Dion, Shania Twain, and Britney Spears in the world of celebrity fragrance lines.
According to documents filed last month with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, she wants exclusive rights to her own name when it comes to products including fragrances, aftershave, bath soap, body lotion, and talc.
Maybe we’ll all get to shower and smell like Avril someday!
Shania Hurting, but Grateful for "Beautiful Blessings"
Now that she’s trying to make it on her own, Shania Twain wants her fans to know she’ll be back in business soon, “hopefully stronger than ever.”
“As I am sure you have seen or heard; I am going through a rough time personally in my life,” the recently separated country star wrote in a message on her website dedicated to her “beloved fans.”
“I wanted you all to know that I could not be getting through this without you. Your letters, emails and words of encouragement give me strength. Your overwhelming support reminds me to smile, no matter how deep the pain and to always be grateful for all the beautiful blessings in my life…
“I have so much to say but I know the best way for me to speak is through my music. This is my therapy, my passion, and my love. I look forward to sharing it with all of you as I begin this new journey.
“I need some time to heal this broken heart but make no mistake; I will be back and hopefully stronger than ever.
“Thank you my friends, from the bottom of my heart.”
Twain and her producer hubby of 14 years, Robert “Mutt” Lange, announced their separation May 15. They have one son, 6-year-old Eja D’Angelo.
Secretary Denies Breaking Up Shania’s Marriage
The alleged other woman is finally talking.
Marie-Anne Thiébaud, 37, the longtime secretary and house manager at Shania Twain and Mutt Lange’s estate in Switzerland, spoke to News exclusively today about her reputed role in the couple’s headlines-grabbing breakup.
“I don’t work for them anymoreI am retired,” Thiébaud said by telephone from her home in Geneva.
“I know what you’re ringing to ask me about. But when marriages break up, they break up for all sorts of complicated reasonsit’s never just one reason. And those reasons should be kept private.”
She continued: “If you’re looking for a person that broke up a marriage, then you have the wrong person. I’m not that person.”
Twain, 42, and Lange, a 59-year-old record producer, announced their split last week after 14 years of marriage. They have one son, 6-year-old Eja D’Angelo.
People magazine has reported that Thiébaud, once one of the country star’s closest confidantes, and Lange have left their respective marriages for each other and are still in a relationship.
Thiébaud declined to comment any further on the reports, saying news outlets shouldn’t “intrude into people’s private lives.”
Shania’s Split: Man, It Feels Like Another Woman
Shania Twain and Robert “Mutt” Lange’s private matter just became public fodder.
Just days after the duo announced their separation with nary an explanation, calling it a “private matter,” comes a report that a third party was involved in their break.
Citing several sources close to the couple, People reports the record producer was involvedand continues to be involvedwith the duo’s longtime secretary and manager of their Switzerland home, the also-married Marie-Anne Thiébaud.
While the famously reclusive Lange initially called his split from Twain “unfortunate” and the result of “growing apart” after 14 years of marriage, he’s wasting no time in lashing out at the magazine story, denying any semblance of impropriety.
“It’s absolutely not the reason [for the separation],” he told People. “It’s not true.”
Twain, 42, and Lange, 59, have one child together, 6-year-old Eja D’Angelo.
