James McAvoy and Anne-Marie Duff: Wanted in LA
While his costar Angelina Jolie is busy preparing to give birth to twins, James McAvoy found another beautiful gal to hang with at the Hollywood premiere of his new film Wanted: his wife, Anne-Marie Duff.
The Mann Village Theater in Los Angeles, California was the place to be last night to catch a first glimpse of the new suspense flick. And McAvoy looked dashing in a black leather jacket overtop a black v-neck with dark jeans and black shoes.
Duff, on the other hand, classed things up a bit in a low-cut grey and gold tank-style belted dress teamed with a pair of strappy grey heels.
James recently told press that he really enjoyed working with Jolie on the film. “The thing I most appreciated from Angelina was that she doesn’t take herself too seriously. And she kept reminding us that if you can’t have fun when you’re making an action movie, you shouldn’t be doing it.”
Mischa Barton Premieres “The Happening”
Mischa Barton Premieres “The Happening”
Just like the rest of us, celebrities enjoy a good scare. And Mischa Barton was in the house for the New York City premiere of The Happening last night.
It all went down at the historic Ziegfeld Theater in Manhattan, as M. Night Shyamalan’s new suspense flick (opens this Friday June 13th) wowed moviegoers. And the OC babe looked snazzy in a silver strapless multi-tiered ruffled dress with a pair of black 1-strap heels.
When she’s not attending swanky entertainment industry events, or shopping all over Beverly Hills, Barton is hard at work on her movie career.
This year alone, she has three films coming out- “Walled In,” “Homecoming,” and “Don’t Fade Away,” with an additional movie “Malice in Wonderland” slated for a 2009 release.
FOX releases official information about the 24 prequel

In early March, FOX announced that a 24 two-hour Season 7 prequel would air this fall. At that time, not much was known about this special event expect that the action would take place after the Season 6 finale and before the Season 7 premiere. Eventually, we got wind that Jack Bauer would be heading to Africa even if the idea was scrapped in September because of production cost.
Today, FOX confirmed that Jack Bauer would battle an international crisis in South Africa in the two-hour prequel set to air on Sunday, November 23 at 8 p.m.
While Jack is busy in South Africa (these scenes were shot on location by the way), the U.S. citizens are welcoming new president Allison Taylor. The network also reveals that these events will take place a few months before Day 7 and will set stage for the drama to be faced by the characters in the new season.
Executive producer Howard Gordon reassures fans by saying the prequel will explore Bauer’s complex emotional state of mind and will still feature the suspense they have grown to love and expect from the series.
Day 7 of 24 will air on Mondays at 9 p.m. starting in January 2009. The series will also celebrate its 150th episode during this seventh season.
Reaper renewed!
Reaper fans rejoice! The Hollywood Reporter (with its new, ugly design) states that the CW has renewed the show for a second season.
The show has been on the bubble for a little while, and I can postulate the CW’s motives for renewal. First, it gives the opportunity to build a name for the show (which is a nice Buffy the Vampire Slayer combination of fantasy and humor). Second, it cuts some slack for the show with regard to any possible developmental interference the writer’s strike may have had on it.
The show will return for 13 episodes in the mid-season and will likely run alongside the CW’s other fantasy suspense series Supernatural after Smallville finishes its run.
The show has made great strides since its Kevin Smith-directed premiere and really shows promise. The still-struggling CW could use as many hits as possible. It’s a good thing that the network is pursuing shows with some degree of sophistication and not abandoning them for mindless drivel (coughcoughrealityTVcoughcough) in the pursuit of cheap ratings.
