Vanessa Hudgens talks to Newsweek

Vanessa HudgensIn a recent interview with Newsweek, Vanessa Hudgens talked about High School Musical and Zac Efron’s hygiene. (Yep, you read that second item correctly.)

About High School Musical 3, Hudgens, who is currently on location shooting San Francisco, says that she thinks the crew is done after the completion of the trilogy. She also reveals that her character gets accepted to Stanford.

Hudgens also refutes reports that beau Zac Efron doesn’t shower. (Has anyone else heard this? Am I just not hip to the goings on of tween dreams like Zac Efron? Maybe I should pick up a Tiger Beat magazine.) She says, “That’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. Whoever came up with that is completely idiotic. He showers! He showers! Believe me, he does.”

So, there’s no more High School Musical after this one. Looks like Camp Rock, which stars the Jonas Brothers, will be Disney’s new cash cow.

Eagle Eye Movie Trailer - What Do You Think?

Paramount/DreamWorks just released a new theatrical trailer for Eagle Eye, which I’m guessing must be attached to prints of Wanted (which hits theaters this Friday). The new D.J. Caruso-directed fast-paced race-against-time-thriller which stars Shia LaBeouf and Michelle Monaghan as “two strangers who become the pawns of a mysterious woman they have never met, but who seems to know their every move. Realizing they are being used to further her diabolical plot, they must work together to outwit the woman before she has them killed.”

The trailer picks up where the teaser left off, and doesnt let up. Is it just me or is this film looking better and better? The action looks intense, and need I remind you that the movie is based on an original idea from Steven Spielberg?! Watch the trailer below and tell me what you think in the comments!

Watch the trailer in High Definition on Yahoo. Eagle Eye hits theaters on September 26th 2008.

Four Talking Posters From The Spirit

When I first heard that Yahoo had talking posters from Frank Miller’s The Spirit, I thought to myself “Cool, this is the future of movie marketing”. I mean, eventually one-sheet displays will be replaced with flatscreen televisions which can easily switch in and out various movie posters. Say a screening of The Happening just gets out, the theater can load movie posters of films that people who went to see an M Night movie would also enjoy. As you leave The Dark Knight, posters from other comic book movies would light your path of exit. And this new technology would allow for animated and interactive posters.

So when I clicked over to Yahoo I was very disappointed to find four standard character posters. The talking gimmick is just a gimmick. You move your mouse over a poster and a sound clip from that character is played. Sure, it’s interaction, but pretty lamely executed. I was expecting for the characters to come to life. I was expecting their lips to move. Was I expecting too much? Check out the lameness for yourself on Yahoo. Or you could star at the four posters above and pretend they are saying the superimposed quotes. It’s probably just as good.

Best X-Files trailer so far

This latest trailer for The X-Files movie, coming out July 25th, actually has some meat to it. The past teaser-trailers haven’t shown much except some snow and a lot of flashes of black. In this trailer, we actually get to see some of Mulder and Scully’s co-stars — namely, Amanda Peet and Billy Connolly. Peet appears to be an FBI agent who is a bit of an outsider because she’s a believer in the paranormal, which is why Mulder is brought on to the case. Connolly plays an unusual man, a psychic, who may or may not be nuts.

Fortunately, this new trailer does not reveal what the mystery is all about. That would suck. There aren’t aliens in this movie, it’s more along the lines of a Monster-of-the-Week episode. Let’s just say this trailer is enough to give me nightmares. It also makes me feel very cold (why do The X-Files movies always have to involve snow?).

I would love to embed the video for you, but I can’t just yet. It’s a Yahoo! exclusive at the moment, so you’ll just have to pop on over there and check it out.
